Lost Voicemail Indicator After Flash

I'm coming to the well of knowledge once again....

I just (well, the beginning of the month) recooked a 3.3 ROM. The only thing I changed were which programs I used, and not much deleting stuff already in the stock ROM.

I just found out I have 8 voicemails, but there is no voicemail indicator(the envelope icon at the top of the screen) that pops up anymore to let me know. I called Sprint and had them run diagnostics, and now a trouble ticket has been issued (of course I never said I was using my own ROM 8) ).

:?: I'm wondering if anyone knows if I may have inadvertently left something out that would cause this to happen? Maybe an important dll, or something in my ExtROM? :?:

I'm going to start deleting programs next to see if one is causing the problem, but I'm using the same programs as in my first cooked ROM and never had this problem.

Thanks for any and all responses.

Are you using phonealarm? Then again it could be a rom related issue and in that case sprint would not be able to help you. On a related topic, I was wondering when u do see that voicemail envelope does it tell you how many voicemails you have, because mine has never showed more voicemails than one. It's annoying especially if you have multiple voicemails and it still only shows one.

I thought phoneAlarm might be the culprit, but I imported the settings I normally use, which were always good. I even uninstalled/reinstalled it, but nothing.

The PA envelope always showed how many voicemails I had. The default Sprint one only showed a single envelope icon, indicating I indeed had a voicemail, but never how many I actually had.

I've seen this with a nearly stock aku 3.5 and a STOCK aku 2.2. I'm not real sure what the issue is but I've only installed 2 handfuls of apps or so. Still puzzled about this one myself.

Was a hard reset the only option?

Not even a hard reset cured the issue. :? I'm currently running alltels stock aku 2.2 wit my extrom to no advantage. Not sure what's going on here. Sorry...if I find something ill let u know. ;)

Could be a fleeting issue. Sprint only sends VM notification for the first new VM--after that nada. So if your phone somehow missed the one notification it isn't going to get another one no matter how many VMs are left.

So try going into your VM, listen to/delete all the messages so that none are new. Then hang up and call your 6700 from another phone and leave a message (so that you once again have a new voice mail). See if that pops up a notification.

Unfortunately, no dice. The Sprint tech even reset my mailbox so I had to set it up again.

I'm thinking about having to reflash, much to my dismay.....
