Signal Strength - aka Improve reception?

Ok I did a search... the damn search results are so un-uniform and I waded through pages of posts so ease up on the flames if this has been posted. :)

There are spots where my wifes phone will cut in and out but if she walks 20 feet her connection is fine.

Are there any tricks to improving the signal strength on the xv6700 other than voodoo or (in the same class) those stupid gold antennas you stick on your battery?

correct me if i'm wrong but there's really nothing u can do about signal strength except find an area above ground preferably outside a building. Also make sure not to touch or cover the antenna stub while talking. I remember that being a big issue with my previous phone, the Nokia 3300. That'll all I can really say. Also if you're finding this problem at home the best solution is to get a bluetooth headset and leave the phone in the area where it gets the most reception.

Hope this helps

What battery are you using? The reason I ask is because there are non OEM battery's that don't have the metal plate on the back of the battery. I have read somewhere that this can cause a reduction in the signal. Hope this helps.

If you can, saqer is correct, the cheapest and usual easiest thing to do is to use blue tooth and not move around the phone. if this is not possible. and seing that you probably cant affect the building materials. you may want to look into a local repeater / amp type device. (they are expensive) check out http://www.cyberguys.com/templates/s...boost&sort=rev
