Serious xv6700 problems..

I've been having this problem since I got the phone about a year ago and now it's even worse. I installed a fresh windows 6.1 pro yesterday using the kitchen found on this site.

Now the problem occurs like this. The background image (wallpaper) will disappear and it will just be blue. I can't send a text message or do anything on the phone. I do a soft reset and the phone asked me to align the screen again. Everything on the phone is back to normal just like a hard reset would do.

I tried to soft reset my phone every night and the same thing will happen give it a day or two.

Programs installed with ROM

1-Cal Lite (Calculator)
Comm Manager
Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Notepad, One Note
Resco Explorer 2008
Solitaire, Bubblebreaker, Mspacman, Mines, Sudoku, Tripyzee
HTC Camera
Keyboard skin
Arcsoft MMS
Flash Video Bundle
Net CF 2.0
Google Maps
HTC Diamond Dialer
HTC Home
HTC Task Manager
Clear Temp
Lockdown R6

Programs installed on the phone (after ROM)

Skyfire
BeejiveIM
Memmaid
SPB backup
Net CF 3.5

2gb SD card
Uno, Peter's Gamebox, Tripeaks,

Please any advice is appreciated!

edit : BTW it's Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

Sounds to me like a defective unit. If it's been going on for this long then why didn't you get it replaced?

Re: Serious xv6700 problems..

I bought it off a friend who just got it from Verizon. He went on to get an iphone and I created a new account with Verizon. No insurance etc. I figured I got a lemon. This sucks.

Re: Serious xv6700 problems..

Well. If you get a nice rep they will overlook that you didn't buy it from VZW and you get a free replacment device. You interested in buying a new one? I got one here that has no sratches/dents except for two nicks on the left side of the top. Screen is perfect though. I always keep mine in a case. Just so happend I was holding it when I got out of my car at In-N-Out and I droped it. Anyways let me know if interested.

I think I will just wait it out and go with the Storm. Thanks though.

Re: Serious xv6700 problems..

So are you saying that even with several different ROMs you are having the exact same issues? I just wanna clarify. I got a nice WM5 ROM for VZW if you wanna try it out to rule out anything else.

Re: Serious xv6700 problems..

Yea I was using the 19716 kitchen and upgraded to the 20748 build. Unless you are talking about something different?

Re: Serious xv6700 problems..

But even with the different kitchen builds are you using the same things in your ROM or different applications?

Re: Serious xv6700 problems..

Well the problem is fixed... In a bad way. Last night I dropped the phone and the screen went goodbye. I was actually asking around for an old phone just to use for a while until the Storm comes out and one of my friends actually has a spare xv6700 that he uses for GPS. Hopefully this one will work, but I don't know if Verizon will activate it since he said he claimed insurance on it because he dropped it in the water and it stopped working for a week, they sent him a new one and then the old one magically worked again.

Re: Serious xv6700 problems..

They most of the time don't check ESN. WAH and I know that You can sell a phone that hasen't been turned in. The only way you won't get it activated is if it was reported lost or stolen. Just do it online so you don't bring up any issues with them.
