Re-installing RADIO to device.
I know Flashing ROM's is not for newbies and that is why I have been doing them without problems many times now. I just ran into a problem with my Radio. Do you know how to re-flash the radio over to the device? I had to disconnect my phone in the middle of the beginning of the FLASH this last time and it removed the radio from my device. The only thing that is on the device now is the actual ROM Mario from Bigj.
Any help at all much appreciated. I have VZW xv-6700. Do you know what the deal is with all the problems that people are having with their SD cards? Thanks, I look forwards to your reply. Andrew, EDIT: I have fixed this issue thanks to this link. Things are up and running now. Thanks to all who helped. |
You can just flash back to the released ROM for VZW. The latest radio will be included. Looks like this might be the latest from UTStarcom:

Thanks for your reply. I already tried doing that. It gives an error while in bootloader mode the error given is about some country id error code and says that this ROM is not intended for this device. When I am connected by activesync I am given an error about connection and this error will not show up if I do the same with any unofficial ROM or a ROM without a Radio update.
Any more help is much needed, thanks. Andrew, |
I'm afraid you're in the small group of people here with this problem. Apparently the radio ROM flashing procedure is very sensitive and if that part of the phone gets screwed up it's not possible to flash another radio ROM image on there. Seems the Verizon units are especially at risk for this.
I think your best bet would be to take it into Verizon and let them see that the radio ROM says "None" and that calls don't work. Tell them you have already tried to flash the latest ROM. See if they will replace your phone for you. And I'm sure you know this by now, but you should never interrupt a flashing process on any device. Good luck. |
When my Sprint 6700 screen got cracked and they gave me a refurb one, i ran into a hardware issue where the radio would disconnect and had trouble flashing the radio on it and got that error some about the ROM not being intended for this device.. I managed to get it to work by downgrading from 3.5 to 3.3 i believe and had the radio file in with the 3.3 and then at that point I was able to go back to stock. took me like 4-5 trys doing the same thing over and over.. ALSO I used the stock installer, just replaced the actual rom file, so might try taking the verizon one and swap with a 3.3 or something and see if that will work.. BUT then again I had hardware issues so my experiences may not help but figured Id share..

Hey guys,
Thanks for your help. I unfortunately bricked my device. It won't leave bootloader mode. Even after reflashing a ROM it won't after a Hard Reset or soft reset. Nothing will get me to an Operating System. This sucks. I am not sure how Verizon will be able to help me. I will take it in this week and say exactly what had happened to cause this problem of the radio and go from there. I will see how it goes.... Thanks again for your help with these matters though. Wish that 6800 would hurry. Andrew, |
Did you try the utilities found by searching "stuck in bootloader" here? You might not have a brick at all--don't give up ;)

I did and after about 30 min of looking I found some things that helped. I even got my stock ROM to install including the Radio. I couldn't be happier.... Thanks a lot for the encouragement. Andrew, |
