Stereo output

Should I expect stereo output from my xv6700? I don't mean sound coming out of two earbuds. I mean actual stereo separation. I was given a stereo headphone adapter for cell phone, which also came with a built-in microphone and switch. When I use it with headphones, I get sound coming out of both Left and Right earbuds, but the sound is not stereo--all the sound is packed in the middle.

Anyone's expertise on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nope, it does not have stereo out, only mono. In fact there is no stereo at all on the Apache

Thanks. How disapointing for such a device to be advertising Multimedia and Windows media playing, to deliver in in mono. So, what's the use of connecting a stereo BT headet?....Stupid.

Uh, I get stereo BT out of mine. What earbuds are you using??? What version of Windows??? Something doesn't sound setup quite right to me.

Wow, you give me hope. When you say you get stereo BT out of your 6700, you mean two separate channels? Stereo separation? I'm using standard buds with an adaptor for cell phones...Can't tell you the brand. Windows Mobile 5. Where in "setup" should I go to find more detail?

Part of the problem may be that you're using a headphone jack or converter that doesn't match the contacts for the 6700. I went through a couple generics that gave me mono sound before I bought a headphone adapter from Verizon that gave me actual stereo sound when connected to a standard 3.5mm headset.

You should also get stereo sound from the stereo earbuds that came packaged with your phone. Have you tried that?

For the record, this info couldn't be any more wrong. In fact the only place that you hear mono is out of the built in speaker, just like every other ppc out there.

Get the right adapter and you'll get real stereo.

I agree. You've got to find an adapter with 3 rings and the main body (barrel). I got mine from Radio Shack, but I've also seen 'em on E-bay alot cheaper.

Thank you, friends. I saw an adaptor at a local store with the "three-ringed barrel" for about $6. I'll look into it.

woops, i didn't quite read his question right, it does have stereo out via the headphone jack. like the others have stated you need the right adapter or the right headphones.
