Well i am having a problem sending music through bluetooth tomorrow i need to send a .mp3 to someone, today rather, and i was practicing on my old phone because ive never done it before on the Apache. So i got the file from my pc to the apache found the other phone via bluetooth, which is a krzr, named it and all that. so when i go to file explorer first i went to send.. and text was grayed out,it had MMS msg, and Outlook as options. So naturally i said ok and tryed beam. But that only gives me the infared option am i doing something wrong? Thankx in advanced jason |

Here's a tutorial for WM. Do you see these screens? Are you running WM5/6/6.1?

Re: problems sending .mp3 via bluetooth
I got your PM and this is what I can tell you. Both devices must have BT (Duh) and OBEX (Object Exchange). If one doesnt have OBEX then it will not work. So first we need to know what the other device is so it can be determined if OBEX is supported.
Seconly you will need some sort of file explorer that will support sending files via BT. I use Resco Explorer. So I simply go to that folder and select the file and press and hold the stylus on that file and a menu will come up. From it I select Send To -> BlueTooth Recipient and then the next screen does a scan for BT devices close to me and I choose who I am looking for and pair the devices and then send the file. But there again, the key is OBEX and pairing and a support file explorer browser. Hope this helps |
Re: problems sending .mp3 via bluetooth
Hey guys,
well as for gambatte response the turtorial says to do what i am doing so i am thinking maybe the other phone doesnt have obex???? but it should because i use to transfer files all the time on it. well ill play aorund and see what happens and let u guys know thanks everyone |
Re: problems sending .mp3 via bluetooth
I use File Explore (default) to send them over BT. Just hit beam file then wait a few and it ill find the BT device with blue bars instead of red. Wait till it has device name, if you send while it says unknown you'll get an error.
