Magnetic Case Turns on 6700!?
Okay, subject about says it all I think... I have a real nice leather case with a magnetic flap on it... I've noticed that the magnetic flap, more often than not, turns the phone on?!
Anyone know if there's a way to stop this? Thanks, -Corey |
if you have your phone setup with a password, then it wont matter. the phone will be locked when it comes on, and it will go off after a few minutes. whats probably happening is the case is tight and it is smashing a button somewhere on the phone, making it come on.

This has been a problem with the 6700 any case with large magnets cause a problem. IMHO this goes beyond just tuning the PPC on I think this causes screen alignment problems and can drain your battery check the case thread is the Apache forum for more information. You will most likely get better response to this topic if it is posted in the Apache forum so I will move it there. Hope this helps.

Funny, I was looking for a 6700 section, lol..
I had no idea this was an Apache :)... |
Ohh and yes, it does more than just turn it on.. It also puts it in landscape, drains the battery very fast, and it also caused me on a couple of occasions to have to pull the battery out for 10+ minutes before it would even turn on...
I never knew what was causing all my issues until I stumbled across the magnetic issue last night!! |
throw that case in the trash mister.

do you keep your screen facing in? towards you?
I have the OEM case from Sprint and I keep the screen facing my hip and no issues |
Never had a problem with my case. Doesn't matter which way I put the phone in.
