Using custom roms
 
I was wondering if it was possible to use a 6800 rom in my 6700 my current carrier is US Cellular and i notice thet they sold the 6800 at there store today and ive never seen a US cellular rom for the 6700 so i was thinking why cant you just use a 6800 rom but im not sure if this can be done

Nope. IF THE ROM WAS NOT MADE FOR THE DEVICE DON'T USE IT! It won't brick your apache but it won't work.

well thanks for that info but if i cant use that rom do you have any idea of how to go about makeing the phone work on US Cellular Its a waste to just have this phone sitting here and a phone i got for a penny in my pocket I would really like to go back to my apache

You would need to get the ESN changed or added to their data base. And load the correct PRL.

LOL. Sorry I don't ha whole lot of skills in that area as I've never performed that operation. You might want to find a PRL changing how-to thread...

SEARCH BUTTON! It should be very easy to flash your phone to US Cellular, you just need to get your hands on the right PRL. Google is your friend for this.

To load the prl dial ##778, choose edit, the unlock code should be 000000. Go to the PRL setting in EPST, browse to the prl that you have placed on your phone and voila.

Then take the phone to a US Cellular store and activate it.
