Typing Lag Solution(?)
I had really gotten used to not being able to use suggestive prediction and all, until I found and installed the following software:
http://julien.schapman.free.fr/touch...ation-tool.php After installing this, I can have it show like 10 suggestions, and no lag as before. Maybe this is reproduceable for those who had the problems as I did? Can you guys confirm that the typing lag is not present with this? I am amazed at the fact that I can have nearly 4 times the amount I had before, just to get it not to lag, and yet I have no lag at all. Strange.. |
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
this was discussed before and as i remember the only work around was to disable text prediction

Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
oh sorry just re-read
|
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
Surprisingly, yes, it does seem to respond much quicker, even as you said with 10 suggestions. This is great, as I liked to keep suggestions on but low, which always created mangled text input. Hopefully this is a fix!

Let's hope it is a fix, so the devs can find out why WM has the bug, and this software corrects it. MODS Sticky perhaps? |
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
I just install the app do i have to tweak anything to get less lag on the keyboard... because after installation i still have lag..
|
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
The app is friggin sweet. I'll report back tomorrow if the lag shows up or not.
|
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
Wonderful. I'll be back with some more results...
|
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
it doesn't work for me...
|
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
Meh, lag showed up late last night. Oh well, it was worth a try. It's still a cool app. makes tweaking windows faster.
|
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
Yep. When I use the slide out keyboard it takes forever :(
|
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)

You can't give up that easily, can you? Are you that attached to your typing lag,.. Anyways, please make sure you follow these steps: 1. Try if you can to hard-reset before doing this. (Preferred, but optional) 2. Make sure you are running 6.1, and 19716, and no other programs installed. 3. Change the following settings: - No capitalization on first word of sentance, found on the third tab "Options" under Input Settings - Turn off the other setting there, too. (Scroll upon reaching the last line.) - Change the settings for Word Completion, to: + Suggest Words when entering text, [</] (Enabled) + Suggest After entering 3 letters + Suggest 2 words + Add Space after word [ ] (Not enabled) + Enable Auto Correct [ ] (Not enabled) 4. Start>Settings>Buttons - Make the delay the shortest, but the repeat in between the 4th and 3rd; you find this under Up/Down Control After you have done all of these settings, then you install this program. Then, you change it to show 10 words. You should notice that although the typing might appear to be slower than WM5, it still doesn't lag like before, even though you can now see 10 word prediction. Please report your findings. |
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
It isn't bad for me. Only after a soft reset when I first use the physical keyboard.

I trashed this app. I did a hard reset. I never really have a typing lag, only when I first slide the keyboard open. |

Thanks for understanding. |
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
The app makes it run the same as if I were to manually set it up. It works great at first in the sms, but after a day or so it slows to a crawl and misses every other character or so. I just turn it all off. I'd rather be able to type than get suggested words.

Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
I JUST noticed you said to run build 19716. I'm running 19213. Maybe I will try updating...
|
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
I'm running build 19716 too. I trun off my suggestions. It doesn't seem to be bad.

Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
Well I f-ed up my phone flashing it. Just goes to show, you can know what you're doing and still mess it up. LOL
|
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
LOL, sometimes I wonder about you jabu. What did you do to it?
|
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
wow my txt just started lagging MORE THAN EVER
|
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
My text lags a good bit... I have to wait until I'm done typing for a couple seconds before I can hit send. Tried the keyboard fix cab out there and still nothing... Didn't have this until I flashed from a stock rom to the 20270... A friend of mine though has also flashed the 20270 and doesn't have the lag... I set my page pool to 4 and his is at 7. I am wondering if I should increase the page pool?? Anyone got any info on this?

Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
I'm pretty sure when I try to install that D3D driver that it is causing the problem. If I remove it, relatively no problems. I gotta quit adding random crap to my ROMs. LOL

Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
BTW, I now see what is meant by the typing lag when first opening the keyboard.. I never even noticed that this was a seperate issue before. Man, that is quite annoying!!
For everyone else, I will reply later today probably, with an update. |
Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
Wait, is THAT what we're talking about here? Lag when opening the keyboard? Or lag when typing an sms?

Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
I have way too short of an attention span today!
I've gotten used to not having word suggestions. I really don't even notice it anymore. I'd like it to work, but at this point it isn't worth the trouble for the feature. |

Re: Typing Lag Solution(?)
I thought that in WM5 it would suggest based on the frequency of word use, but it does not do it for wm6.1
