vx6700 stuck in bootload
Hello, I've read a lot of threads here but im still not sure what I need to do. I know nothing about these phone hacks. All I wanted to do was update my phone to the latest official version from Verizon -
http://support.vzw.com/how_to_use/xv...re_update.html AKU 3.3 or whatever. I did exactly like it said and my phone went into black screen mode halfway through the update....with Serial or USB displayed. (usb, when connected to computer) I tried the soft and hard resets with no luck. "USB" and "V 2.02" is all I currently see on the black screen. Please help... I know nothing about this BuildOS or what to do with it ? Do I need this to get me back on track ? As you can tell im a super noob. If I do need to download BuildOS, please direct me to the download link. I appreciate it much, MB |

That software wizard just doesnt recognize it. My computer (vista) does though. The hardware device recognizes it as "Microsoft USB Sync". Although the 'Sync Center' doesnt recognize it all. probably because its still in boot mode screen. I tried running it as Administrator as well...no luck. |

P.S.
I found this thread too, http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=389568 Good luck. I am sure you'll get it with the help of the folks here. |
Re: vx6700 stuck in bootload
Im pretty sure my USB connection is fine. Since the hardware manager recognizes it and it switches to USB mode when connected to the computer.

Re: vx6700 stuck in bootload
Forget mtty and trash. Use Vista and uncheck USB Connections in Windows mobile Device Center. Make sure you're uising the right REV version. Hard reset your phone a few times before (It will keep going back into bootloader mode) then flash.

And while connected in usb mode, I should continue to try Hard Reset ? Regarding the REV version of windows mobile device center, i've had auto updates on all the time..so im pretty sure I have the latest version. It doesnt allow me to check for updates anywhere... im not even sure where to look to find out the current version I have. I dont see any "about" anywhere to click on. appreciate the help, will try anything practically to get this to work. |
Re: vx6700 stuck in bootload
If you unchecked allow usb you should bee fine, try to flash with VISTA now...

Re: vx6700 stuck in bootload
Does 'try to Flash' mean hard reset ? Seriously I dont know...
You guys are my only hope...phone tech support is useless.. especially when a chick answers. |
Re: vx6700 stuck in bootload
Flashing means to put a new ROM on the Phone. And REV version is NOT refering to Windows Mobile Device Center. THe numbers at the bottom of the bootloader screen need to match the REV drop down box in the kitchen. Have you watched my videos? I've helped quite a few people get their machines running so I'm sure this will work for you.

Re: vx6700 stuck in bootload
Junkie, Can you just tell me what & where I need to download to put the ROM on the phone and to get the REX in the kitchen?
I dont see any of your videos mentioning "how to get out of bootmode" so I didnt watch any. I need like a Dummies guide...because I know when I call tech support tomorrow their going to be azzes and just tell me I need a new one. |
Re: vx6700 stuck in bootload
Thread could be closed.. After 3 days of screwing around, I tried it on an XP computer and it recognized and updated everything perfectly. Thank god. Was just about to return it.
To Hell with Vista !! |
Re: vx6700 stuck in bootload
If you would have watched my video you would have seen how to PROPERLY flash your phone, therfore you would get out of bootloader mode.
