Problem Syncing (1 computer works, the other doesnt)
Im having issues w/ sync.
I have a have my laptop (which won't sync my PDA) and my desktop which will. Desktop - using XP BLACK, Norton Symantec corporate and thats about it. Everything working fine. Using the same PDA and data cable... Laptop - Using XP, Trend Micros, I have a Bluetooth USB and everything was working fine until I upgraded to sync v4.5 and then updated my PDA with the lates .net drivers. I didnt have Bluetooth until two days ago and I thougth I could just syc it with Bluetooth, but that didnt work either. Blutooth accepts and recognizes the device (XV6700 from VZW). I did the whole un-install reinstall, followed Microsofts directions for adding ports to Trend Micros to accept etc, followed Microsofts directions for firewall and nothing worked. What can you suggest that may fix this? I appreciate your help with this! |

Yes, it syncs with the desktop but not with my laptop.
It use to.... but no more... |
Re: Problem Syncing (1 computer works, the other doesnt)
Try deleting and remaking partnership on laptop and 6700 (not a Q). Sorry but I guess I have to ask, can you connect and file explore but just not sync?

I have tried that also. I cannot navigate through file explorer. I cant even access my mini SD card.

Re: Problem Syncing (1 computer works, the other doesnt)
Well, your 6700 must be set up OK to sync with desktop. Your laptop is prolly where the problem is. So you have AS set up exactly like the desktop, e.g. allow USB connections? How bout that Trend Micro, did you completely disable? Did you try to uninstall the 6700 drivers from device manager and reinstall? The driver installation may be messed up. If you think this may be the case, follow these steps:
1.Keep your device connected 2.From the desktop, go to Start > Start Search 3.Enter "Device Manager" or "devmgmt.msc" to launch the Device Manager window 4.Look under the "Network adapters" node for "Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter". If this is not present, skip to step 5. Otherwise, right-click "Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter" and choose to "Uninstall" 5.Look under the "Mobile Devices" node for "Microsoft USB Sync". If this is not present, skip to step 6. Otherwise, right-click "Microsoft USB Sync" and choose to "Uninstall" 6.Disconnect and reconnect your device. Your device driver will re-install and AS will launch. On the BT side, did you create an incoming COM port to sync over? |
Re: Problem Syncing (1 computer works, the other doesnt)
Mine says "Windows Mobile-based Device #17" under Network adapters.
I have tried uninstalling the device from the device manager and the same happens after a reconnect and install. I do not see "MS windows Mobile Remote adapter" anywhere nor do I see "MS USB sync".... I am going to compare them to my desktop now. Any other suggestions. |
Re: Problem Syncing (1 computer works, the other doesnt)
Nothing on the desktop either.
