MMS & PIE Please work on this
 

I would like to request someone with the knowledge to make a ROM, to help us get Picture Mail working with our PIE again please. I am running out of time.

Maybe some read my post about getting my Ex a PpC-6700 and flashed with a 3.5 ROM. well I have a 2yr old girl with here and we always send MMS back and forth. Helps when you daughter is 670 miles from you.

I have her to send me the phone by mail so I can reflash. I know I am not alone for needing PIE with MMS.

im totally confused as to what you are asking for. MMS is working on all of the 3.5 roms ive used. can you be a little more specific, or lead me through the steps that used to work on aku 2.x, and then where in those steps it breaks down when you upgrade.

id be more than happy to help, just not quite sure what is "broken"

When someone sends you a picture or video and you try to view it in PIE, you view it like you are viewing it on your desktop. The picture is really small and none of the buttons work. Now with Netfront v3.3 I can get it to view the pictures, but when I try to download a video it says I need quicktime installed. So in AKU2.2 and earlier I had no problems viewing or downloading pictures and videos with PIE.

I am wondering if Sprint really did change the website as I read elsewhere...
You can send no prob, but to recieve you have the problem quoted above.
I have gotten further with Opera, but dam Opera doen't let me save the pics like IE used to do.

I agree. I cannot get my pictures either, post 3.5. I do not care for Opera on my phone (I love it and use it exclusively on my PCs). I tried changing how PIE registered with PiePlus, but this didnt help. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hey I will try a solution. I will make my PPC emulate at treo 650 and see if that will work. I will post results a bit later tonight. Don't hold your breath though, I'm not.

I have the same rom and PIE does not view picturemail messages correctly. If someone sends you a video there is no way to download or view it in a format that can play on our phones.

I just installed the Colonel's rom this weekend and the same result. Can see the pics, but cant do anything with them. I tried the original sprint rom and it works just fine.

I am experiencing the same thing with PIE and Colonel's 3.5.3 rom. The ability to view the photo or save it, or anything outside of viewing the thumbnail, is gone. Videomail will no longer pull up in PIE either....

Nertfront 3.4 plus Coreplayer...Works great!
 

I got a workaround. I downloaded Netfront 3.4 techinical Preview and set it as my default browser. When I get a pic or videomail I click on the link and it takes me to the picturemail site and I can download them to my phone. Media player wont play the videos so I use Coreplayer to play the videos. It works great.

This is actually the same solution that I am using now, except I have Netfront 3.3. It works nicely, still not as easy as before with AKU2.x, but does the job for me.

Has anyone gotten this to work with Opera Mobile?

Any update on this? I really liked being able to send and recieve MMS. Now I can send, but if I get a reply back I have to forward the message to my lappy and view it on there.

The beta version 8.65 of Opera mobile works even better than Netfront.

Still nothing?

If you download something like "PPC-6700 hacks", or "PIE+", or go into your registry, or have some other way of changing your browser's "User Agent" from PIE to MSIE6.0 you won't have any problems downloading the pictures.

Looking in my registry:

HKLM-SOFTWARE-WINDOWS-INTERNET EXPLORER-5.0-USER AGENT
VERISON = MSIE 6.0

I can't view my picture mail. When I click the link I get sent to the Sprint Picture Mail website with the tiny thumbnail and none of the buttons work.

I'm using:
Sardinour's 3.5 pr6
Treo Messaging v4
Sprint MMS .cab from PPCGEEKS

I had everything backwards...

Okay after trying mobile web browser ThunderHawk which in my opinion isn't too good I've decided to install NetFront v3.3. I've gotta say it's pretty nice. But one thing I have a problem with is using Palm Messaging App, the picture mail link opens up Pocket IE. Even if I set NetFront as my default browser the link opens up P.I.E. Is there anyway around this?
