NO radio found

Hi all- I am new to the forum and have browsed and search ALL of the archives relating to NO radio and flash upgrades etc. I have a UT Startcom 6700 on alltel. I ran it with stock until about 2 weeks ago when it suddenly reported NO RADIO. After seeing a few post referencing NO HOPE, I found a few others and went through each process and the system is a great PDA now with WM6, but still NO RADIO. Anybody have any other ideas? Is there anyway to buy a radio / chip / ?? I tried the post "How to: get your Radio Back! :D " from Raging Idiot... Thanks, but it didn't work for me. My wifi still works, but not phone / alltel internet of course.

Really hope you can help. Unfortunately no insurance :(

Thanks for your help.

How old is your 6700? The same thing happened to mine when it was about 11 months old and I dropped it. I sent it to UTStar for service and they repaired it for free. If you are within your 1 year warranty that is what I would do. If you have tried everything in Raging Idiots post and that didn't work then you are probably dead in the water. It is most likely that your radio has died. You can't just buy and replace a radio chip because it is part of the main board. I basically got a brand new 6700 just that it was in my old 6700 shell. I hope this helps!! Good Luck

Yeah the warranty is nive if your in it but if not then you will have to get another device. Once the radio is gone there is no brings it back. Believe me, I have tried many ways and so have others. It sucks I know but it coiuld be a blessing as well.

Thanks for the quick response... My phone was 390 days old when this happened (about 2 weeks ago). I missed the one year BARELY. I guess now that I am sadly convinced that it is only a PDA, I should call UT Starcom and beg. Can't hurt b/c without the phone feature, I have no desire to carry around. Thanks for the clarification!
