I want to use PPCKitchen to upgrade to WM6, what do I need?

So I've downloaded PPCKitchen, downloaded the packs from the Updater, now what should I do to get started? I also want to keep the hard reset feature on my phone, how should I do that? Where can I also find a copy of the original Sprint OEM flash, or make one using my existing phone?

Its not hard atall but you really should read the directions OR search this forum for the many others that have asked this question over and over.

The directions inside the program help a little, just keep in mind its easier then you think and read the directions thoroughly you'll be better off then just reading a quick explanation without knowing what youre doing.

You can give me a man a fish and he will eat for a day or you can teach a man to fish and he will eat for his life.

Or better yet you should tell us why you want to go to WM6 and what you are expecting from it.

After my use with WM 6 or 6.1 it would be better to just stay with WM5.

Whoops sorry I forgot completely how to search when I started the thread (Blame free time and lack of use of brain). Where can I find the instructions to the program? I tried to do it myself, I was successful untill the actual uploading of the ROM, where it cleared my existing ROM but failed to upload my new ROM (error code 101) although it only happens if I do it myself, not if I use either a prepackaged setup program (UTStarcom's) or someone else's

The easiest way to do so in my opinion would be ppckitchen app.
Go to the bottom left of the page; under "PPCKitchen Released (Apache)" there are 2 links.

PPCKitchen ROM kit
and
installation FAQ

I found it to be very simple

I dont see anyone explaining what it is the like more about WM6 than WM5 and what they can do in 6 that they cannot do in 5. Anyone wanna elaborate?

Well i guess ill go first.

Honestly i wished i stayed with WM 5. Sure 6.1 boots up A LOT quicker, its easyier to tether, and when i found out that it had Chat style SMS it drove me nuts for weeks until i got used to it. But i think WM 5 was better. I just never found the time to downgrade. But i would just say use your own judgement. But i prefer WM 5 hands down.

Please read a sh*tload before attempting your first flash. It will save you a nightmare in the future. Flashing your rom before reading up on it is like driving a car in the dark without headlights, bad sh*t happens.

I second that.
