Verizon Picture Messaging
I apologize if this is a repeat question but I am trying to figure out if on Verizon you can accomplish sending / receiving picture messages without getting the data plan? I thought I read somewhere that you can get mobile web and use one of the MMS utilities to send picture mail. If so does that utilize data meaning that you cannot have data blocked in order to send and receive picture messages because you will incur per KB charges?

Re: Verizon Picture Messaging
I say no personally but someone else (cant remember who, sry) swears and testifies that if you lock it in 1X mode then you can and not get charged.
[EDIT] Ok, After lots of looking and digging I found it so here it is http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=25278 Pls PM me and post back here if this works for you. |

I am pulling my hair out on this... I have flashed my phone with 6.1 pro including Arcsoft MMS. I have called Verizon and had the data block removed from my account and I have tried forcing the phone into 1X mode. I think my situation is unique though because I am getting a very prompt message when I try to send picture MMS that "Warning! Unable to send your message(s). Your message(s) will remain in the Drafts folder" And when I try to download one I get a very similar message "Warning! Unable to receive your message(s). Your message(s) will remain in the Inbox" And I can't do it in EVDO mode with data enabled and no user name set up on the #777 dialer for the data access. In other words mine was wide open, absolutely nothing stopping it from sending / receiving the messages and still NADA, NILCH...ZIPPO! Anyone, please help...thank you and BTW I really appreciate everyone who is contributing to allow people like me to keep up with this stuff!!! I am working in that thread you directed me to: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=25278 |
