DST problem - clock did not change

I'm using the 3.5 kitchen and my clock did not change this morning. I experimented and either the DST2007 or WM5DST_signed cabs work fine.

you have to set your phone to update from the network and your handset will pull the new time after about 5 mins.

My phone auto corrected this morning but it made a 2 hour correction! I'm thinking the built in AKU 3.5 correction occured and then the reg hack for the update kicked in too. I'm using my own 3.5 ROM kitchen. Did this hapen to anyone else?

My phone was set to update from the network.

Verizon has an update to Wireless Sync you can download. It adds some new features to your handset. Pretty cool stuff.

Got it working by building an OEM that applies Microsoft's DST reg entries.

With the standard 3.5 kitchen, the phone picks up the time from Sprint but shows the time one hour too early. Looking in the registry:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Clock\HomeDST=0 which means the phone doesn't know that DST has started.

After rebuilding the ROM with the OEM, HomeDST=1, and the phone has the right time.

(The OEM is on the FTP in Kitchen OEMs/willysp_OEMs/Z_DST_2007)

Installing anything extra into an AKU 3+ ROM should not be necessary. I am running a ROM based on the standard AKU 3.5 kitchen (without much of anything else in it) and my time changed just fine on its own. A messagebox popped up at 2am on the dot and said my clock was updated as a result of DST.

MS has said all along that the cab file is not necessary for AKU 3. So for people who didn't get an automatic time update, there must be something else going on with your install.

Yes, I'm confused.

I'm using HELMI_Apache_3.5_KITCHEN_PPC-GEEKS_r1.2-pre2.rar and it does not have the timezone registry keys.

luv2chill 03-12-2007 12:47 AM

No it won't have the keys... that's because MS implemented the "fix" differently in the ROM builds. I don't know how or why, I just know it's different. So it's normal to not see those registry entries in there.

So I am having a weird DST problem. My clock updated correctly, and my IT patch was applied correctly on my desktop. All appointments in Outlook appear at the correct time. On my PPC, they are 1 hour ahead.

Now here's the odd part. If I have the Time Sync unchecked and I move my clock time back 1 hour, the appointments do not change.

For example, I have an appointment for the Bulls game tonight. It starts at 7:30 PM CST. It shows up in Outlook at 7:30 (I'm on CST), but in my device shows it at 8:30. I go into settings > system > clocks & alarms and move the time back 1 hour. Click OK and the entry still shows up at 8:30 after my clock has been moved back 1 hour.

Any ideas?

One of the machines is not in the right time zone. I can't tell which it is.

BTW adjusting the device time will have no effect on the time of the appointment. For example, if you have a 10am cdt meeting and your phone is in cdt, the alarm will go off at 9:45am whenever the phone clock reaches that time.

I have AKU 3.3 Hemi_C orig, my clock is set to update from the network and my time displayed is correct; however my alarms (in pocketwakeup) are going off an hour late (ex should go off at 08:00 actually goes off at 09:00)

Any one seen this? ill test other items, but it seems wacky

i am using the stock sprint rom with the dst patch and indiana time zone eastern time zone -5 and my alarm goes off an hour early and on time. it does this if it is set to eastern time zone -5. this is the first year that the whole state will obey dst and before it was left up to each county. this state is also in two time zones to make matters worse.

All times are GMT -4. The time now is 01:34 AM.
