Has ANYBOy gotten MMS to work on their SPRINT APACHE???
 

I have a sprint ppc6700 with wm6 and I have been trying to find a way to send pictures from my phone. sMMS does not work. NueMMS does not work. Arcsoft is a big stinkin pile of does not work. Ive tried other programs and different builds and the only one I have gotten to work is a helmi_c wm6.0 build. By setting up an email account in the messaging program. And it only worked ONCE. I can send text emails the same way every time, but if a picture or sound file is attached it wont go through. It just stays in the outbox. And the statement

"the message(s) could not be sent. check that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct. then try sending again"

--comes up in a messaging alert box.

My account information is obviously correct because it works for text emails and i have sprint power vision pack and the first picture was sent from ym email to my text messages and came through fine. PLease help, there must be a way. If you have a sprint apache (ppc-6700) and can send pictures: please post a reply or send me your setup info or build or whatever you are doing that works.

It works fine for me. I send pictures through email. What email account are you using? I am not using my sprint account I am using my home ISP account. Sending pictures via ppc should be no different than a pc.

I use NueMMS and it works if I select the carrier for the recipient of the message. If I leave it set to automatic, the recipient never gets the message.

i use gmail for my ppc email and it can send txt emails but it cannot send if there is a picture attached. however since the time i posted this i have gotten some picture texts through useing sMMS. My only problem now is how to uninstall arcsoft MMS which came with helmi's build. In wm5 arcsoft mms was a removable program, but in this wm6 and other wm6.1s ive tried, it is intigrated into the OS. If anyone knows how to remove it (it is laggy) please let me know

I use sMMS and it does work....first make sure you have a true valid/activated "PicMail Account", if you call Sprint and tell them you cannot send pics (MMS) from your phone, they are going to give you the "phone is not picmail (MMS) supported you can only do it via a email attachment".

To check for a valid/activate Picmail Account, try and see on a PC if you can log on to your Sprint Picmail Account, if you enter your phone number and it says "invalid phone number" or some sort of response or "if this is your first time entering the site, then you have not activated the account," if you get errors either on cell number/password input call Sprint and tell them you want to access the Picmail on a PC, from there they will fix the issue for you in seconds and make your number valid and send you a pass code to enter the site first, after that you can change the password, but make sure you do the same in sMMS.

sMMS is entering your Picmail Account via the www just as if you were on a PC...and that is it. It does not go through special servers as in you entering (smtp.sprintpicmail.com) because there is no setting for that in the program..etc...that is why all you need is a "PhoneNumber/Password".

Yes. I have sMMS registered and working now and it takes a quite a long time to send and recieve, but it works. Thank you someguy for this awesome mms program. although I still cannot get pictures to go through the gmail mailbox i added to my messaging program, only emails with text can get through. Also the arcsoft mms still lags the messaging program and im still looking for a build similar to the helmi_c Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2) that doesnt include it, or a way to remove it.

Does that sMMS work on WM5 ROMs? I'm running bigj's zelda (aku 3.5 based)...

Finaly i have built myself a build that is perfect with www.ppckitchen.com 's most recent apache build. sMMS works fine and arcsoft is gone. no more lag and all my options are working in this build. it only took about 3 years, 15 flashes and 20 diffrent OS builds, but i am now satisfied. :)
