A newb with some questions

I have what is a T-Mobile Dash, it is unbranded HTC early phone. How do I tell if it is unlocked? I have an AT&T sim card in it and it works fine. I want to upgrade from Windows Mobile 5 to Windows Mobile 6 or even better 6.1. I have found the t-mobile windows mobile 6 upgrade, but would like to understand better what that means.

I am not even sure that the HTC titan is the s620 phone, so if it is not please let me know and I will repost in the appropriate forum.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Rob

Well I cant tell you what you have but I can tell you that you dont have a 6700 bc none of them are GSM devices with SIMs. Why not post a pic? We need to get you to the right place first.

Here is a picture of the device. It is a T-Mobile Dash, I am using an AT&T sim card in it. Thanks for trying to help a newb.

Its actually a RUIM slot for carriers that use a SIM for CDMA. Relience India or something like that. But the 6700 is not and will never be GSM. Because GSM blows......

Exactly what Psxmoe said (and beat me to). From looking at it, yes it does look like a SIM but the 6700 (in any carrier) has never been on any GSM carrier. Here are some internal links for you to read about it.

The T-Mobile Dash also goes by S620 and Excalibur. It definitely wouldn't be a 6700(Apache) or 6800(Titan). Short wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_Excalibur

There isn't a forum at this site for that phone, but there is one over at XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=309

I don't really know that much about the phone though, unfortunately. I only know what I do because a friend has it. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Re: A newb with some questions

Yeah, this forum is more concentrated on CDMA, whereas XDA is more GSM.
