Does internet sharing work with old 2.06 ROM
 

I like internet sharing since it functions like a router and you do not need anything installed on the desktop pc. But I can not go to AKU3.5 due to compatiblity issues of a few applications. I tried load the cab onto 2.06ROM, the installation failed. But it should be easy to install it manually. My question is: Does 2.06 has the "plumbing" for it to work?

Internet sharing is a 3.x genre msft change. Indeed our issue w/ bt is that HTC didn't put the hooks into its dll to support the feature msft added in 3.x.

So, there are os hooks in 3.x that internet sharing makes heavy use of. As 2.x doesnt have such hooks, i would find it unlikely that you could support i-share under 2.x w/o also hodge-podging stuff from the 3.x os in.

That would mean you have a hybrid 2.x/3.x system, and well.. 2.x sux in many ways, so we are all trying to do 3.x, but we dont have the 3.x drivers from htc. yes a vicious circle. However by using a 3.x os from msft, it is "mostly" compatible with the 2.x drivers from htc.

I'd go w/ a 3.3 or 3.5 rom bud.

Tried and confirmed, it did not work on AKU2.06. Click the exe, nothing happens.

can anyone post the cab for ICS? I'm using AKU 3.3 and would like to try it out...
