Bluetooth Question

I recently bought a HTC PPC 6700 and when I tried to connect my bluetooth headset the phone couldn't find it to pair up with it. I know it isn't the phone, due to the fact that the phone connects up with a different bluetooth headset that I have. I know it isn't the bluetooth due to the fact that it connects up with a different phone that I have. The bluetooth that I want to use with the PPC 6700 is a Plantronics 220. I don't have a manual for the phone, but I figured the bluetooth would just connect up.

My Motorola H555 bluetooth connects right up to the PPC 6700 but it isn't the bluetooth I want to use.

My question is this, am I just out of luck with this Plantronics bluetooth?

Thanks

Are you sure that the H555 just connected without making the 6700 and device discoverable? And then the passkey pairing? What does the 6700 think that the H555 is in your BT device listing on the 6700? That's the usual sequence of events in a typical BT pairing. The Plantronics should work IMHO.

The 6700 found my H555 when I set the phone to discovery mode and it showed it as a bluetooth headset. I then had to pair it with the passkey. It would even find the Plantronics no matter what I do. The phone is set to "turn on bluetooth" and " Make this device visible to other devices" so I have no idea why it won't connect or even find the Plantronics.

I am at a total loss on this one.

You also have to have the Plantronics in discovery mode as well. The Plantronics documentation shold tell you how.

Thank you....once I figured out how to put the plantronics into pairing mode it worked just fine.

Thanks again.

I'm in CA, and I found out the hard way about the hands-free law. I know a lot of us thought it went into effect January, but I guess i was wrong. Its only $20, but that's a lot of Dollar Menu Meals. Damn.
