VZW Customization after 3.5 upgrade
 

Ok this may be a stupid question but here goes... After I install a new cooked 3.5 rom should i let the verizon customization go or soft reset it before it can install those cabs?

I recommend soft resettings before it customizes.

if you dont let it customize, things like your ## codes wont work.... i have yet to see an OEM package on the FTP that allows us to build in the VZ customizations,,,,,, i would really LOVE to see one go up though, i think it will be nice for the vz people to not have to let those run.

I reset before it can install it's stuff and while I'm not sure if all the ##'s work (I don't use them typicaly), however I did use ##'s to set my SCI to 0 yesterday. For info I am using saridnours latest.

With the exception of wireless sync, and mms, I don't think there's anything usefull in the verizon ext rom.

I was able to get ##778 to work with Kirvin's clean and simple 3.5 ROM

I did not run any of the Verizon customizations..

Soft reset to interrupt, use total commander to navigate to Etended_Rom and then run the packages you want individually. I had put the stuff in my beta rom to make the ## work without running the customization, not sure if shawn put my registry changes in the stock kitchen or not.

hey verizonguy, whos shawn? lol, is that the name on the forums? or is that saridonour, sorry if i mispelled that. I would like to know so i could go ask him if he did or not.

Im also on this boat it seems with users of verizon 6700's. Its like we just raided the sprint club and took wateva we could and forgot the manuals.

I do however love the work, wouldn't have raided any other club. ;)
