Unable to revert back to AKU 3.5 from WM6
 

Hi Friends,


I am unable to revert back from WM6 to the older AKU 3.5 version. I get an error message "The device is not designed for the ROM". The purpose of moving back to an older ROM to have stability as WM6 is unstable on my PPC6700.

Friends please help me to get back to the older system. Also am facing a problem of no ringtone on my PPC 6700. I have found that there is difference in the registery of my other 6700.

Can anyone tell me how to completely re-load the system so as to have a stable ROM

C'mon guys & experts you guidance is required

Are you using a OEM version of WM5 or a customized version?

Hi,

I am using Helmi's ROM with Reliance India ext ROM. But some how have not been able to revert back to the older ROM.

Currently am on Helmi's first WM6 ROM with Reliance India Ext Rom. Now want to go back to customised WM5.

What is your Boot Loader version and what ROM are you trying to flash to?

Hi !!

Sorry for my late reply as now the phone is dogged by very many problems.

The bootloader ver is 1.00 (i found out pressing power on+record+reset). I am trying to rever back to Helmi's 3.5 ROM with Indian operators extended ROM.

When i try to flash the device i get an error message " The device is not designed for this ROM"

Also some other problems noticed are as follows

1. When starting the handset The Charging Icon & Orange LED remains ON
2. While going thru the regedit i found there is some difference with resepect to number of enteries vis-a-vis another handset for Ringtone causing no ringtone (though the speaker is working).

Looking forward to solution

This is the WM5 custom ROM I use. Try it and see if you can get it to work for you so you can get back to WM5 and maybe change from there if you still want.
