I have had this problem to not sure why. If you are sure your connection settings are correct, do a soft reset and try again that usual fixes mine. Hope that helps. 8)

sounds like you have the outgoing server setings wrong. have a look at them, and what aol says use.

actually the AOL mail is a know problem.

In the settings it uses smtp.aol.com to send(i think) I have heard that changing it to smtp.sprint.com fixes it. and if i happen to have that messed up basically replace AOL in the address with sprint. It fixed the problem for a friend of mine

does anyone one know what the outgoing settings should be to make it work?

This is another one of my lists of problems I can't get my aol to send messages either. i've been trying to figure it out as well. I tried changing it to sprint, but that did not work.

Best bet is to use direct push my friend thats what I do. If aol allows forwarding.

I have AOl and a sprint Treo phone and I cant send mail either.......i tried the above smtp.spintpcs.com and it did't work for me. any other advice?

my advice is to google aol pop3 settings. everytime i have issues with this the solution is usually in the first 10 searches returned with those search terms. wish i could help more, its been a while since my aol fritzed on me like that... good luck
