??? How To: Add "Save Target As" in PIE ???
I was trying to download a .cab file in PIE and it just brought up a bunch of text on the screen. Is there any way of adding a "Save Target As" when you click and hold on a link? Or does anyone have any other solution? I've tried PIE Plus and it didn't after a soft reset. When I opened PIE it just PIE Plus just wasn't anymore. Anyone else had any luck with PIE Plus?
Thanks. |
PIE doesn't typically identify .cab files as something to download rather than render. In fact, I don't think I've ever been able to get it to download one. Opera works most of the time, as long as the server's MIME is set up correctly. Try Opera, if that doesn't work, then you'll have to download it on a PC and move it to the phone or storage card. Why Microsoft can be so stupid sometimes is beyond me. Downloading CABs should definitely be a priority feature for PIE.

geeezus i have this same issue with ORB ... i try to "download" the asx file so i can just click it later or choose another audio player on the phone... and it always wants to just launch whatever program and go... refuses to just download.... i feel your pain buddy..
anyone know if PIE+ (that commerical one that hooks into PIE) can do it? id be interested in that program if it had said functionality. |
PIE+ does have a save target as option and has worked for me.
I have never had a problem downloading anything with Opera mobile. |
