OK. There has to be a better way to see the picture mail that someone sends instead of being sent to the sprint picture mail web site.
Can a wap friendly site be made. why dont the pictures show up like they used to Thanks.... |

questions about this MMS hack integrating with threaded SMS
My first post!
First of all I love this site. :D Been following closely for about a week and am just now getting my feet wet with some of the hacks. You guys are crazy smart. First major step was Wideawakes custom AKU 2.2. I'm still a 5 on the noob scale (ie. can follow good instructions) so I think Im gonna wait for the dust to settle before trying more cutting edge stuff (3.3, 3.5, cooking ROMs...etc). Anyways back on topic: a few questions about all this MMS/SMS stuff. I installed this Arcsoft MMS app. It works fine. Tested sending/receiving to sprint customer (myself) and cingular (sister). Also, I had previously installed beta 4 of the palm threaded SMS app. It's also working great. My questions are about how they all work together. 1. My understanding is that there's currently no way to send MMS from within the palm threaded messaging app. Correct? When I try it just stays in the outbox and the app shuts down. 2. When I send an MMS through Outlook (with the Arcsoft app) it sends fine and goes to the sent folder. BUT incoming MMS's dont get delivered to outlook, but instead to the palm messaging app (and actually in a thread if from a person i'd been previously SMSing with). Is there a way to keep MMSs seperate and have them delivered into outlook and not the palm app? 3. Finally when I send an MMS to a non sprint customer they get the full intact message as sent in their inbox, but when I receive one i just get a link to a sprint site. Is there any way around this or does sprint just have a wonky way of doing MMS/picture mail (or whatever they're calling it these days)? Ok so this might be a useless post because I think I've combed the relevant threads and couldn't find anything better than the current setup. (Gonna get even more confusing if I decide to use flexmail... then three apps for all my messaging!) None of this is a huge deal, i don't use MMS often but I think that for many of us the elegance of a hack is almost as important as its utility. Thanks, and hope to see you guys on some other threads! |
First welcome to the site. Glad you like it and my custom AKU 2.2. ;) Well to the ?s
1. Nope and I doubt we see that anytime soon. 2. and 3. They seem about the same so I will explain. Its not true picturemail thats why you recieve a text message instead of it coming into the mms folder itself. Just something you gotta deal with. The same goes for the palm its your default text message app so thats why it gets it. I cant think of any quick fixes right now but if I think of anything I'll let you know :thumbleft: ~Mike |
