Tethering disconnects

While using the WModem program to tether my 6700, it will stop receiving data, disconnect. My pc it is tethered to still shows that it is connected but the WMmodem is showing that it is not connected. If I disconnect using the pc and reconnect it will stay connected for a limited amount of time before disconnecting again. What gives??](*,)
