Help testing USB connectivity
 

Just bought a replacement 6700 off fleabay and found it to be a reconditioned unit. (ripped off again). Using the tools in the kitchen, can someone give some advice on how to make sure USB is working on the phone. Bootloader reads Serial then USB when plugged in but all RUU's throw a connection error or unsupported RUU version. Would like to test in bootloader mode and give some commands to verify communication. Never had issues like this with my old 6700. Bootloader is 2.02, Does charge through USB, tested data transfer so cable is good. At a loss and starting to thing it's hardware related.

Send it back if it stated anything other than new or not reconditioned.

If you are in BL mode and see it change from Serial to USB then USB is working. Thats all it does is show the change or status depending on how it connected

What ROM are you installing and what step are you going through to the install? What all apps are you trying to install with it?

There are no commands for BL mode. You either get Serial or USB, thats it.

Look, in BL mode you start with Serial and then change to USB once the USB cable is connected. You also say you can transfer data (assumption here is that you can synch) and you can charge. There is nothing wrong with the device or any hardware. The problem is something you are doing. So it isnt hardware but rather is geared more towards software (programming) and end-used errors.

So lets get more info on what ROM (WM5/6) and apps you are trying to install.

I can synch with IRD. OS is WM5 looking to update to latest helmi. I found some commands for mtty to try in BL mode. thanks..
