Completely erase PPC-6700 before selling?

So how can I erase any trace of my information from my PPC-6700 before I sell it? I mean, my phone number, all the phone programming, etc.

Anyone know how to do this?

You can hard reset and erase of of your personal data on your phone such as pix/flix/music/contax/ECT but you cannot erase the phones programming.

Use PPCKitchen.org's kitchen. Create a "Huge rom" to make sure everything get's overwritten. Then flash back to a regular rom. That should overwrite any information and no one can read your old data with something like cdma workshop.

But if I am not mistaken, nothing in a ROM over-writes anything in the EPST. Isnt that all provisional information through the programming of the device?

It's been a while. I think that's right, the 6700 still has that seperate ext rom or whatever it was. I'm gonna head back to the vogue forum.... lol
It would take an uber-ppcgeek to get his info anyway. I personally wouldn't worry about it.

I agree, I would worry about it either. If someone whats to dig that deep then they are going to find something anyway. Besides its not a DoD type thing here. What worse could they possibly find other than a few contacts and amature/pro p0rn? Like I said before, I would just hard reset it and ship it out.

Hard reset, pack and ship. You could be real nice and flash the stock ROM, which would accomplish the same thing. The EPST can't be overwritten until the phone is on the new account. Hell, the last 6700 I got off ebay still had ALL of the former owner's info and settings :???:, which I fixed with a ROM flash.

Actually, there is a way to delete all programming; more complete than a hard reset.
It's called a MasterReset.
##786# and tap "Reset".[##RTN#]
This will clear out everything and return it to original factory settings.
