Need Help Unlocking Verizon XV6700 to Sprint
 

Hello all.

Recently i jumped in the pool with my Sprint Upstage in my back pocket. The friend that i was with told me that he had an older Verizon XV6700 that he would sell to me. Ive been looking at the forums for a couple hours now and cant seem to find what i need to do to unlock this phone so i can use it as a replacement of my Sprint Upstage. What do i need to do to get this thing unlocked so i can use it on the Sprint network? And also i have the "simply everything" plan on sprint, TV, text, internet, etc., if in fact i can use this Verizon XV6700 on the Sprint network as a replacement of my upstage will i have these features?

Just need a bit of help.

I will pay someone to walk me through the steps to get this phone unlocked so i can walk into the sprint store and tell them to activate it with out any hassle. I am very computer literate, however i dont feel like researching it, because i need my phone ASAP.

I am avaliable through e-mail only at the moment but i can get to a phone tomorrow.

Well, hate to break it to you but there is no unlock. People have been trying to a very long time and although there have beens lots of very well educated people working on it, I think it all boils down to the carrier not have that ESN in the list of devices they have bought from the manufacture so they know it doesnt belong on thier network and therefore will not/cannot activate it. The good new is 67s are super duper cheap on ebay because they are getting to be quite an older phone.

Yeah, while I understand most of it, I can also better understand why I would just buy a 67 off ebay (for the correct carrier) being they are so cheap and avoid all the headaches

Sprint WILL NOT activate it. The only way you will ever activate an XV6700 on Sprint is to change the ESN to one in Sprint's database. Just buy one for Sprint.

Tell you friend you want your $$$$ back, and buy a 67 for Sprint off eBay just as stated on the above posts. 8)

Like Jabu said, it can be done but for most people, they just want it to work rather than play a test goat because they have more money and determination than sense but because would rather just wanna see if they can do it. That is why we suggest getting a phone from the carrier you wanna use it with.

To do it, you have to buy something anyways. You need a Sprint ESN, so you would have to buy a busted PPC-6700 on ebay or something then clone that ESN into the XV6700. By the way, cloning the ESN is a friggin nightmare. I hade to take two different methods and blend them together. ESN cloning will save you a little dough, but is a huge pain in the *ss. Just buy a PPC-6700. Trust me, you don't want the headache.

So am i to understand that sprint only activates sprint phones, even if the phone is CDMA?

Yes. Sprint buys ESN blocks. If it isn't a Sprint phone, the ESN isn't in their database and they WILL NOT activate it.
