poor evdo speeds

i am on sprint in san antonio and i cant get over 90kbit/sec download speeds when i check my speeds at dslreports.com (using the mobile checker).

any particular tricks to get better speeds. i would have thought in san antonio i could do better but ive tried it at a variety of locations and still fairly slow. it also does say ev at the top of the screen

How fast do u except to get, I get 30kb/s - 50kb/s in Chicago and thats real good on average I get 30kbit/sec which is roughly 290kps. Its not as fast as a cable line if thats what you were thinking.

i was forgetting about the conversion factor

First I thought it was cute that the above signature has "evdo rev a" listed even though he clearly has a rev 0 device. (no rev a handset is available on the market.)

Anyway. I'm in the cleveland market and My phone tests at about 260kb/s. So.. I really dont know what your doing that its that slow. I have found if you dont have very much storage memory it slows down considerably.

For the record at full speed sprint IS faster that cable. But we all know that means your the only user on the network and you live half way up a cell tower.

For the record rev a will not change much :!: you will notice a slight increase in download speeds but upload it where the change is going to be made.

I put Rev A just b/c I'm in the area, knowing very well the device doesn't support it, and knowing that Rev A address mainly uploading theres only a minor change in dl speed.

I have recorded speeds ranging from 200-1300 kbit/sec on my 6700, same location. Also have seen an aircard hit 1600 in this location.

I usually average 400ish

It really depends more on how many people are using data on the tower at any given time.
