Voicemail count for sprint
 
Has anyone found a way to make the voicemail counter actually reflect the number of voicemails. my phone alwas says 1new. I`ve tried phone alarm with the sane result. This seems to function properly with the Verizon ppc.

Try this:

Start > Settings > Phone > Services
Select "Voicemail" from the list, then hit "Get Settings"
Select "Clear"

That should clear the count.

Well that starts the counter over. But when I left 2 voicemails it sill counted it as one. But then says I have 2 missed calls. Is there any way to make it count voicemail messages like it does missed calls.

Nope... it's sprint's network... they built it that way (don't ask me why) and have steadfastly refused the change it over the years. It's not a visible issue for most of their customer base because normal sprint handsets just have the icon and don't tell you a count anywhere. But because of the more standardized nature of the PPC Phones (every other carrier does report your VM count), it will just always say "1 message" no matter how many you have.

In short, Sprint has to fix it. Nothing we can do but bitch to them.
