I really like that one. Is there any way to replace my current splash screen without doing any kitchen work? I've searched all over the place, but couldn't find anything.

You need to download http://www.ppcgeeks.com/files/apachesplash_154_177.zip

It will let you do what you are looking for. I have never tried with a custom picture but I think that so long as the dimentions are correct, and the extension is correct, it should be point and click.

I know it was super easy to go back to the Sprint logo after the screen changed to "Telecom" when I went to the custom 3.5 rom.

It is not as artistic, but more suitable for all ages than my favorite with the tatoos in the previous post.

Yes, It works great with any image of the right size - there is a utility that formats the jpg to the correct file type for the Splash, and then an install utility. Takes about 30 seconds total. Very cool.

I have Verizon (and 3.5) and really like that Verizon screen. Very slick - although tatoo lady is pretty sweet as well, but may garner unwanted attention at the office... :(

does anyone know what file extensions i can use for both splash and welcome screen?

I used png for welcome and converted the png to jpeg for splash.
