WM6.1 kitchen to WM5.0 downgrade possible?
 

I was wondering if it is possible to downgrade from the wm6.1 kitchen to wm5.0...and if so how is this done?

Yeah there is you'll have to find it on Google in short it breaks your Phone and lets you write a new OS to the ROM

Hell, there are tones of ppl who asked about it here and the answers are in the threads, Im sry I dont know which threads exactly but I honestly dont have a need for them. But they are there, just do some digging.

Do you mind if I ask why you want to downgrade?

I know it is aggravating when you ask a Q and get everything but an answer. I know it can be done but I do not have anything bookmarked as I personally have no need for it. Ill do some browsing for you and see what is out there.

Um, maybe I'm retarded, but can't you just flash it with WM5? I have flashed mine to 6, back to 5, and up to 6.1 with no problems.

that is what I did....just reflashed again.

If you d/l the orig rom.."exe"....just run on pc and it will install via activesync, no need to put phone in "bootloader mode"

Hmm.....I only used the original release of WM6 when it first came out and flashed back to Wm5 also but I though there was a catch with the Kitchen because it changes the BL version or something. For some reason I thought there was more of a trick to it than what there used to be.

I know what you are talking about....but I think that problem was fixed in later version...and people only get into trouble when they dont know what they are doing and change the BL cause they want the latest and greatest instead of leaving it the same.

I use ONLY helmi_c's ROMs and it didn't change my bootloader, that I know of.

need help! im using an apache 6700, i upgrated to WM 6.1 but i need to downgrade to WM 5.0 for warantee repairs. the problem is that my carrier is Movistar(telefonica) and cant seem to find the original software.... what should i do??

Don't downgrade. They will flash it back. Most of the time they're too stupid to relize. And weedahoe, no kitchen or custom ROM changes bootloader. Only offical ROMs have done that.

Movistar/telefonica never made stock software the way Verizon or Sprint did. You may be out of luck, and if in the case you are, my sympathies :(

You could flash a stock Verizon or Sprint rom then don't let custom trash run and change the boot images...
