Does anyone who uses Palm SMS Threading (2nd try.cab) know how to remove the old "text messaging" app so new txt msgs wont duplicate in the SMS threading Inbox and the old "text messaging" inbox?

Anyone ever have the app allow to have messages incoming but not outgoing? is there a fix for this? i would think that the old text app is causing this?

you just have an old notification stuck in your system from the prior application.... typically means that you installed it with a notification in there, OR you didnt disable your radio while you installed the application as per the instructions...

you will need to remove the app, clear your notifications, soft reset, shut your radio off, then re-install
-- if your on AKU 2.x however, and youve already overwritten your ROM files in /windows, you may need to hard reset or try the instructions below for removing the notification manually

memmaid has a notification scanner, and you can manually go in and remove the messaging notification if you dont want to do the above. I dont have any insight for you on wich one you need to remove but once your in there im sure youll figure it out. You could always just remove all of them, and deal w/ missing some reminders for the next week or so, but thats your decision.

update to the last beta to resolve this, it was a known issue early on in the development cycle.

I installed this app on someones phone and he can recieive texts but cant send from this app. he can only send from the old app. i didnt have to do anything special to have mine run and the old app is totally gone and disabled. i am running colonels 3.3 rom and my friend bought his phone from verizon two weeks ago and is using what ever rom they have on their phones right now. any thougths?----i also used the same cab i used for my phone as i did for his. my installs worked on several roms including helmis. mine has always worked flawlessly. i didnt allow the verizon ext rom to load and i am sure his is....but what doesnt make sense is many have installed this on less than fresh phones and older roms and it worked fine form what i understand.

That is because there is a different install process for AKU < 2.3 and after. Your AKU is 3.3 and most of everybody else has already upgraded. To install on AKU 2.2 and below you will have to copy over 12 system files. Go to the first page of the palm sms thread to read the complete instructions. It is more advisable for him to upgrade his phn to a custom rom then do the install. You wont have to worry about system files then. Just a simple cab install.
