can someone recommend an app please

Ok, I despise most things by MS because they are always limited. So I dont use WMP, I do use Pocket Player and Resco Viewer because one will play some files that the other will not. So I am looking for ONE player that will play everything. I use Crystal Player on my PC because it WILL play everything and that is what I like.

I need to play MP3s, MPGs, MP4s, AVIs and WMV for the most part.

So does anyone have (or know of an app) out there that is a good (or even decent) player for the PPC that will do this?

Ok, Sompys site isnt working right now, GSPlayer only plays music files and not video,

PocketMusic also only plays music files and i am looking for ONE app to play everything. I already have two different apps and am trying to get away from that.

MortPlayer has the following info on thier page. MortPlayer supports the following formats:
WAV, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, M3U, PLS, ASX, MPL, ID3, Shoutcast. So it doesnt do MPG or AVI or even WMV. Just audio files.

TCPMP has the following info, File types and codecs supported include AC3, MP4, AVIs and MP3s, Matroska. So there is no mention of WMVs.

But TCPMP is the most close so i will try it out and report back.

I would also go TCPMP ...it plays mostly every file extension.

When Sompy's site comes backup, give it a try. They description indicates it will play everything you indicated.

For right now I am using CorePlayer which is a step up from TCPMP I think. It seems to be working fine. WMVs seem to drag but I am sure it has to do with the encoding process. Thx guys.

Core Player is definitely more polished and it supports A2DP and one-handed navigation withthe soft keys, where TCPMP does not. But TCPMP is the only player that I know if that plays every format. TCPMP supports AC3 which many movies use to encode audio. And it is free. I actually have both because I am a bluetooth guy, but watch an occasional movie...

Download 0.72 version and associated plugins here:

Now you are golden! After the installs, open TCPMP, go to Options->Settings, then Select Page->File Associations and check mark pretty much every audio and video format (i don't check the image formats). Enjoy!

I've always stuck with 0.72, but there is a 0.81 version out there. I have no idea if it is better or not... So, for TCPMP 0.81 here is a msg with links to 0.81 as well as the 0.81 plugins:
