Re: Looking for your OEM ROM?

First off, this is just what I was looking for, but a question or two before I do this...

I had a qwest apache, and I want to use it on sprint, using its qwest software I got it to work on sprint, voice and texts work, but my internet doesnt and sprint doesnt know why, any ideas if I flash to sprint will it brick my phone, fix my internet or anything else?

To the best of my knowledge, Vodafone Australia is GSM. Therefore no, this CDMA phone will not work on their GSM network. Sorry.

The search feature can almost always fix that problem. Wait no longer

Re: Looking for your OEM ROM?

Can you advise how to get my PPC-6700 on Bluegrass Cellular?
Been looking for an OEM Rom for them or a cooked one with the correct apps. (but I do not know what I need) I was able to pull my info off my Razr but can't figure out how to set-up the PPC-6700.

Is it a Bluegrass PPC-6700 or another carrier's?

If it IS Bluegrass: Take a dump of the ROM and PM me.

If it ISN'T Bluegrass: Your best bet is using a Sprint ROM. Unfortunately, Bluegrass Cellular is one of the few [read: rare] rural cell companies left. They aren't a subsidy of a larger provider. From what I could gather by looking at their network specs and the PPC-6800 they have available they seem to be running a Sprint/Nextell signal.

Re: Looking for your OEM ROM?

Yes - OEM Sprint Phone
I agree -- All I have read I figured the same thing that Sprint/Nextel & Bluegrass seem to be very much alike.
My sis used to work for Bluegrass, I am attempting to contact her to see what she knows.
The issue now is going to be to find someone I can jive talk into setting it up for me. I may just go to the local Sprint Guy and have a chat, he is a geek and seems pretty cool, he may be able to advise me on the general network.

Is their a way for me to swap phones at home on CDMA phones?
I know Sprint does the online thing.
Using RSD CDMA, I was able to back up all setting from my Razr, what do I need to get into the same setting on the PPC-6700?
If I found someone with a PPC-6800 Bluegrass Phone, is their a way to copy their Firmware and load on my PPC-6700? Or is that asking too much?

Thanks for looking out......
D

Re: Looking for your OEM ROM?

No to the 6800 firmware, it will refuse to flash.

Swap home phone to CDMA? It's called porting your phone number and all carriers can do it.

To program 6700 hit ##778# to enter programming mode. You will need your MSL to unlock the phone. If you don't have it, search for GetSPC to generate your MSL.

Razr backup? Not sure on that one...
