Sykpe (FREE ppc to landline phone calls until 1/1/07)
If you have a data plan then you can go and download skype which is now offering FREE calls using there program installed to your pc to any landline phone! Absolutely FREE is unbelievable but its true and is only good till the end of the year. So if you make a lot of daytime calls, you can be making them for FREE! All you have to do is is download the .cab file from here and install. Set everything up and u can now make FREE phone calls to anywhere in the US and Canada.
Enjoy your FREE calls! ~Mike Note: Type needs to be installed to the main memory. If installed to miniSD you may have problems with programs menu. Or at least I did. Also don't even bother with it if ur in a non EV-DO coverage area, unless ur gonna be using a wi-fi connection. |
Tried it about two weeks ago and it worked perfectly. However, apparently it has about a one second voice delay. I use the pc to call friends and relatives weekly and loving it. It also has video. It would be nice if the mobile version also support video.

I agree the video function would be a nice add on but it wouldn't be two way, we could only watch them and talk or them watch us. To bad for us but some pda phones have the swivel camera and it would be perfect for them!
Do you think we could put a mirror in the back of the ppc so the other side could see?
that would definitly work, but u would look crazy doing it  imo
When i used the skype seems like it only has speaker phone,, can i turn that off and possibly use my bluetooth,, heck just using the phone would be great,, any help?
when I tried it out, I could use the phone, and it wasn't just the speaker phone. Not sure what u got goin on there as I don't have it installed aymore. can anyone who is using it, help him out?

b) You can use your regular headset which works well as a work-around c) Using the BT toggle to open the audio gateway (BT Audio Today or BT Audio) you can certainly use your BT headset as another workaround. d) I use the High Speed version and see no reason to not use it. good luck. |
