Re: 6700 battery life question

Careful with the OEM batteries many of the OEM batteries are indeed OEM but USED !!! I buy reputable and confirm return policy.

the OEM "extended" batteries are fantastic. I have not tested it yet but I might even be able to leave wifi on for the whole day! yes wifi is the pig

Phone consumes 50mah in standby 60-70mah idle backlight off. 65-75mah backlight on low at idle.

BT is meaningless 10mah jump. Nothing to worry about.

Wifi however nearly 400+ mah jump in consumption!! wow ! 1350mah 350-400mah 3 hours and change it just about right ouch It also makes the phone VERY slow to wakeup (nearly instant with wifi off)

If your already off then yeah bum battery. Mine came with a bum batt too. (lasted about 30 minutes)

Now I have 5 standards and 2 extendeds. Got 1 extended and dolt no back so had to order another with a back (it was only $2 more for the auction of oem ext and back versus just the back so duh I got the one with the battery) its too bad it makes it sooo thick the battery life rocks with that one. I am wondering if I lop off the top and bottom of the extended battery and lop a hole in the inside shell where the battery sits if I can "push" the battery farther into the unit enough to eliminate the extended back or maybe only have to distend the stock back a tiny bit. best of both worlds

That mod will have to wait till I have two of them

Re: 6700 battery life question

I just picked up a 1650mAh LiPo battery (advertised as a 1600mAh) from an ebay seller. It makes a world of difference. I thought that my battery issues were related to the phone, since it happened kind of suddenly and all 3 of my batteries behaved the same. No more instant death after a 20 minute call. Yippie.

Since it was only $13 with shipping, I'm going to pick up another one as a backup.
This 1650 is the largest standard size battery that I've seen, is anyone aware of a larger (mAh)?

http://www.seidioonline.com/index.as...ROD&ProdID=445

You can find them really anywhere...some members use seidio for their battery purchase.

here is an example of a 3200...I have one of them...but remember it does give the 67 a booty bump.

Re: 6700 battery life question

Yeah, Siedo isnt cheap by any means, I also have a 2800 and a 3200 but really only keep them around for when I go out of town and may not have a charger. That "booty bump" UZ talks about doesnt aloow it to fit in my case so thats why I dont use it all the time.

Re: 6700 battery life question

Yeah me too. I hate black. I do all I can to avoid black. Alas there are only 2 non black/tan cases available Pink and Red. The red was nice and bright so I grabbed that one alas does not fit with the fatty battery I may get another one and put a hole in the back for the battery.

Yes UZ I agree. If it does not state NEW and Made by UtStarcom and does not have a good image and good return policy I walk away. I have seen "oem" that are so fake they do not even TRY to trick you. IE if you just open your eyes you can see its NOT a real OEM. this is happening a lot especially with the Nokia Internet Tablet batteries. Got burned twice with crap batteries that are really obvious fakes. (hence the addition to my rules of a GOOD picture if the delivered product does not match the picture thats fraud and you win any dispute)

This one guy was selling 77 OEM batts for the 6700 for $31 shipped. I was tempted but he sold a lot of theses so I was thinking THESE were all the known bad ones or returns. I asked and just got the All unknown as is which in ebay speak means these are bad so I am going to say AS IS and hope to pawn them off on someone else. I walked away from that one.

Re: 6700 battery life question

But what about non-extended size batteries? Is there anything bigger than the 1650mah LiPo? I can't live with the baby bump.
