Are you with Verizon? If so just use their Wireless Sync app Its not just for email, it backs up all of your PIM (contact, calendar, notes, tasks, even gives you weather) Its free and great. I use it as a second backup to outlook

about once a week, i just backup the PIM.VOL file to my SD-Card and call it a day. most of the backup programs ive used make duplicate entries or do other bizzare things after a restore..

anyways that file holds all your calendar and contacts.... bookmarks im not familiar with as i dont use the web on the phone very often.

to restore your backed up PIM.VOL

use the phones BUILT IN file explorer... tap click and "copy" the pim.vol from your SD-Card

go to the root of your phone and RENAME the existing pim.vol....

tap click and PASTE the one from your SD-Card

as soon as the copy finishes, soft reset the device using the stylus (if you wait to long or use a program to soft reset the system will not use the new PIM) so its important to stylus reset it with the button as soon as the copy is finished.

_____________
be careful when upgrading AKU... the 2.x format PIM is not compatible with a 3.x AKU

hope this helps

I use mail2web also. Free push email, you can hard reset your phone anywhere and have your contacts back in a flash with mail2web and you wouldn't need a computer to do it.

Personally I use Sprite Backup as it not only backup the contacts but also backup all the data on my device such as the all the settings for third party applications and also the registry settings.

Another reason I use Sprite Backup is the speed. Sprite Backup is much faster than ActiveSync

Meanwhile, I heard Sprite Backup has got trial version now and can be downloaded from their website, so why not just give it a go!
