Wideawake or someone good like that, help me real quick
 

Hey guys, as some of you may be familer with, i've only had this phone for a few weeks, absoutly love it. But over the few weeks, i've downloaded app's and stuff to see if they're something i like or not. i have some of my major apps on my sd card, such as the RTN Registry Hack, that GPS program (maps 4 pda i think), and some others on there. The programs i have installed on my phone is: BT Toggle, Sirius CE, Agile Messenger, and a dialer skin from EZ Dialer (think thats the name).

It feels kinda slugish, so i was curious to know if there is a solution on how to fix it so it runs faster. Not sure if a hard reset and re-sync would help (have all the .cab files saved too) or what. I have done numerous soft resets and have never taken it as far as a hard reset. But if any of you can help me out here on how to make it a little faster or less slugish, please let me know and post your ideas.

and another question is, how do i completely close the program so it's not runing in the backround instead of "minimizing" it...

Alright run memmaid in advanced mode and check dead registry entries and the deleted program icons (something like that), along with what it already checks. You can get the beta here. It will remove temp files, and other items from a bad install.

to close programs instead of leaving them running I use magic button which can be found here.

I also suggest u hard reset after testing many programs, and reinstall only what u like, thats after ur finished testing. ;)

one last dumb question for the night, i hope..

a hard reset is from (one way) ##RUN# and do a reset there right? or is there an easier way using the button on the bottom of the phone.

and when i do a hard reset, it erases the whole phone correct? or what all exactly does it do

yea when u do a hard reset it will restore to factory default. in other words, exactly how u got it. you can do a hard reset two ways (not sure about the ##RUN#) u can a.) hold the two soft keys (the left and right slash) and press the bottom button. or b.) go to start/programs/clear storage. hope this helps.

ok i have that magicbutton program on, and activesync stays on, everytime i turn it off, it disapears from the top status bar (where the time, signal strength and net connection stuff is), then after a few minutes, it comes back on. how can i take care of this so it stop's running in the backround? or is there nothing i can do about it..

tap and hold the activsync and phone icon and select don't show when inactive.

sorry, yes i do have the latest rom. wideawake helped me on that one :-P


ok guys, another question. i downloaded the 700w speed dialer program on my phone, and i dont want it anymore. when i go into File Explorer, i have this name Action Engine. i click into that and it has AECommon, AE Today Plugin and Framework

now the today plugin is what i believe the other name of that program i downloaded is called (got it from here) but i'm not sure if i should delete the whole "Action Engine" file folder, or just the AE Today Plugin..

if anyone know's what it's called, like what the program downloades and names itself when you install it, let me know

nvm i think i found it, stupid me forgot i could go under settings and system and just delete the downloaded program from there. lol. i think i got it!

heheh, good to hear, can someone else help me with the issue he is having on the weather program?? I have installed and reinstalled on my ppc several times and it works ok sometimes, but others it just does loony stuff.....

i havent tried downloading it again. but i just did the hard reset and installed the programs to the correct locations, card memory or phone memory and i think this should help it out alot. as well as doing the hard reset to help get rid of all the little frag files that get installed in different places. i have BT toggle, magic button and the MMS hack, all the rest, which is; registry hack program, agile messenger, sirius player, framework .net2.0, memmaid, etc are installed on the card now
