Introduction / Upgrade Path
 

Ok im new here and new to this phone..

I just purchased an xv6700 and Im looking for the upgrade path that will suite me.

Here are my goals:

I would like newest firmware
I would like WM6 with tweaks and toys
i would like the standard matches to registry (like wifi and fone at same time etc.)
i would like to use active sync with direct push from my company
it must be activatable thru verizon

Am i asking too much?

I am a geek so no need to dumb it down, jut looking for experienced POV as far as upgrade path..

What order do i do things, what cooked roms do you suggest ..

Search first post second..... Look at the HTC Apache Upgrades forum and all your questions will be answered. I would start with HTC Apache Tips and Tricks/n00b guide.

I am more worried about the process not the individual upgrades tho
like do i have to do auk3.3 berfore wm6.1 and is there an order i should do reghacks or does it not matter..

you can do whatever hacks/tweaks you want in what ever order, it doesnt matter, the same hacks in WM5 are mostly the same in WM6, WM6 is buggy for some people and so some have chosen to stay at WM5 (myself included). The process itself isnt hard. It isnt important (IMO) to keep up with your Boot Loader version.

ok im a bit confused with this aku and the bootloader and the rom... they ARE 3 different things right?

Hey Welcome, Go to the ppckitchen, use the BuildOS.msi and everything is pretty much straightfoward. Select what you want and *BANG* your up and running!

Click on the pic of your phone on TOP and it will take you there.

made my selections and clicked play
next step is tu upload the rom to the device?

Yes follow the prompts and follow the instructions on the screen. When it tells you to remove your USB cable, do so as instructed!

You should be fine! Go "GEEK" your phone!
