load a cricket prl 01050 is a evdo prl after load call 611 if it goes to cricket you good switch ur esn then you should be good to go

after u do that you can serch this thread on how to get WAP & MMS working on the phone, but you will need sertan programs to do some things.

QPST TO UPLOAD PRL 1040

HERE ARE THE SETTINGS

this is from healthman



Hey...here is what you need to do to get it working..

Step 1 dial ##778....and go to edit settings..

step 2 when you get in to the epst go to security.

step 3 Change the HDR AN AUTH USER ID to yourphonenumber@mycricket.com and change the password to cricket....do the same thing to the ppp user id and password

Step 4 got to M.IP Settings and change the number of profiles to 1...also change MIP_MODE to simple ip only.
Press ok and reset the 6700

Step 5 when phone comes on go to settings> connections>connections...under my work network hit add new modem connection..

Step 6 you can name it whatever you want...make sure the modem says cellular line

Step 7 hit next the phone number is #777 and hit next

Step 8 for user name put yourphonenumber@mycricket.com...password is cricket

Step 9 leave domain blank..and hit finish now go back to your connections and hit edit proxy server.

Step 10 select the box that says this network connects to the internet....and select the box under it too..
step 11 were it says proxy server : put Wap.mycricket.com...then hit advanced..

Sterp 12 there are going to be 4 different proxys here...click on the HTTP one..

Step 13 for the proxy put in Wap.mycricket.com....and where it say port put 8080...hit ok and do the same thing to the other 3..

Step 14 hit ok and got back to your connections...and click on the tabs that says advance...and hit select networks and make sure that My work network is used when programs connect to the internet..

Step 15...close all of that stuff out and go to internet explorer...and type in http://wap.cricket.motricity.com/
...then its going to connect...and it should got to the portal.....

step 16 since you cant do much with the portal....type in this http://www.google.com/m?output=xhtm...=mobileproducts
and search for the website you want to go to and this will let you do it.....

IMO, i dont think you even need to know what the abbreviations stand for. The instructions are still quite clear.

Awsome info. works great. I give this site praise. reflashed my cricket phone to helmi's rom, i think im getting addicted to flashing my phone, trying out all the differant options, and got mms and wap working after only having my fone for 4 or 5 days(which i snagged off ebay for only 101, money well spent). Im loosing alot of sleep thanks to you guys. kitchen game me a couple problems, phone wouldn't get past the first splash screen after first couple of reflashes but all the info i needed was right here in the forum. Good work Guys.

One off the subject question can't seem to find info on, might just start a new thread but, Is there info on what the max rom size is for the differant bootloader versions. i have v1.0

How do I find my phones unlock code so that I can edit the settings?

MSL code. For Sprint phone (PPC-6700) you have to do this:

The guy that can't connect what is the error you are gettin? if its an unknown error then set your connection to SIP.

I still can't connect to anything.

In my case, I don't get an error because I never actually connect to a tower. My other cricket phone here has a very weak signal, so maybe that's the problem, but I have roaming enabled to I *should* get something I would think. The other one gets 5 bars in roaming.

I'm also in Las Vegas, NV for the moment - perhaps that is a problem? My other phone is a AWS phone and is probably running on that band instead of EVDO??

Any pointers?

I have tried everything I can to get the internet working on my PPC 6700. No matter what i try it keeps giving me the 1012 Error code. The tech Guy from the company i bought it from said i should try to reinstall windows mobile 5.o and that may fix the problem. But i don't even know how to do that. This PPC 6700 is my first Pocket Pc so I am very new at it. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP.

What network did the phone start out on? (the label on the outside of the phone) and what network are you trying to hook it up to? I assume you're trying to get it to run on cricket. If that's the case, what city are you in and is it just the internet that doesn't work? Can you make calls?

I bout the phone off e-bay. It was flashed for Cricket. I think it was alltel before. I took it to my local Cricket store they swaped it over for me. Everything works fine. I can make calls send texts. just no internet and no MMS messages

fuzzy78 - we need to walk you though doing a ROM dump then. I think you might just be the one that's going to allow all of us to get it working.

Anyone here want to help him do a ROM dump? I've done it before but only twice...

Well i went through and changed the wap address and all the other settings and it connected to the internet. It went to the Cricket Portal. I couldn't do much there so i went to google it finally came up but thats it. After that it stoped connecting. I have never been able to get pic message it always comes up with the error code. Well if you can walk me through it I will try it hopefully it will work and it will help other people. What do i need to do?

Q. - are you guys connecting 1x or EVDO? I mean cool that it works at all - but heck to make this really worth while EVDO would be ideal.

Mine connected for bout five minutes then stopped it is connected with Ev. How do I get it to stay on 1X it only goes to 1X when i get a text or if I am in a call any other time it stays on Ev. Does anyone know how to reinstall windows on the ppc 6700?

Thanks so much! LOL I found lots of things wrong, with this, they never did anything like you said..

Well now I still cant connect to the internet now I get " Can not connect with current settings. to change your connections settings tap settings"

Sooooo now what is there to do?
Your practically a GOD in my eyes..

Were so close..
And I dont want to pay someone else another 65.00 or 110 to REFLASh my phone just for me to get internet..

Hey folks been reading up here in the post. So I have a Verizon 6700 that is flashed for Cricket. I brought it off ebay. I want to do some mods to it like get windows mobile 6 and jazz it up alittle. So my question is if I update it to wm6 will i have to reprogram for cricket?

Thanx for the info... Works Great.... MMS sends out pics but I can't receive pics. What can I do about that? I have tried updating the registry and still nothing. Am I missing something?

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ALONG WITH OTHER AND NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I TAKE MY FONE BACK 2 CRICKET THEY NEVER FIX IT. I have the same question cant seem to find the answer to it anywhere. If I flash a custom rom to my ppc6700 will I have to go and pay CricKet to set it up on their network again?

these instructions look great. can anyone post a step by step process
for flashing to metro?? ive been on other pages where they attempt to explain and its kinda confusing to someone who isnt savvy with programming.
