UPDATE 2/17/07 In helping out Colonel I will be updating this post with news/info/other stuff about beta 3. Also, check the wiki page for the latest updates.
installing as i type, oh i can't wait. its currently installing whats in the extended rom. One thing though, I installed the Col3.3beta3SprintNoJunk rom and it has a telecom boot image. No biggy to me, just noticed it wasnt sprint. hopefully i'll have some time to mess with all this kitchen stuff and change to something i want that looks cool. it just soft reset and a nice electronic voice just told me "all systems are functional" cool. uh oh, we got an error already and i haven't even touched it. it says: sddaemon.exe The file 'sddaemon' cannot be opened. Either it is not singed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall this file. After closing the error window I noticed that the O2 Today plugin had the person I last talked to on it which means it looks like it didn't erase my device when I installed the rom. Did a hard reset, my ppc talked to me again, ah no error this time. Nice. As far as programs we have: (things that I notice that are different from AKU2.2) Midlet Manager (more info: http://tao-group.com/) O2 Plus Pocket RAR Pocket Xpdf Total Commander UPX4PPC Internet Sharing VNC View Batti Config InClose OnLock Prefs psShutXP Sipchange SmartsKey acbPowerMEter ClearTemp DictEditor PPC-6700 Hacks Regeditor Task Manager Live Search Windows Live Messenger Windows Live Display SwitchTCPMP WM5torage Directly after installing and before connecting to pc the memory looks like this: Storage 32.33MB Free and Program 23.38 Free w/ the only running program being ActiveSync. I just got my first 'shell error' message and my ppc restarted. I wonder how often this will happen. It boots real quick though so it might not be that much of a problem. Colonel thanks so much for all your work. I'm really diggin' this beta3 right now! Update: Just going through finding more stuff. Under Settings/Input/Input Method there is an option for Nullkb. I like this. There's also options for each input method that I didn't notice in 2.2 There's LVM Time today plugin with lots of options. Very useful. Just encountered second shell error. Under Start/Settings/System there is Soft Key which looks like it assigns whatever you want to the two soft keys. UPDATE 2/17 After 24 hours of using I've only seen that 'shell error' twice, and they were both within the first half hour I installed the rom. |
rotating windows error/glitch
I installed Colonel's latest 3.3 beta3 and everything went smoothly, except now when ever I click the "OK" or the "X" button to close or minimize a program, the window rotates 90 degrees counter-clockwise into landscape mode, i then have to navigate to the today screen and use the screen rotate application to bring it back to portrait.
when I open the keyboard, it rotates properly to landscape, and again, when i close or minimize a window, it rotates the screen 90 degrees counter-clockwise to a portrait mode. very annoying ... |
dannzeman - You always have to perform a hard reset after installing any of these custom ROMs. There are remnants of your old install that remain in storage even after flashing the new ROM. A hard reset makes sure all of that is clear.

Man, I've been waiting for this 3.3beta3SprintNoJunk!! Installed it last night, and I've gotten my re-installing and resetting routine down to 20 minutes. So far, works excellently. I'm getting a strange bar across the top at times, running left to right (activesync?). I'm sure when you get a full NoJunk 3.5, I'll run that. Thanks Colonel and PPCGeeks.

Is nullKb working correctly? Whenever I select it, the selection goes back to the standard keyboard?
|
tok, are you talking about SIPChange? It seems to be working fine for me.
