Radio none problem
Alright, to start the story: I recently got a asurion replacement that was bootloader 2.05, so I downgraded to 2.02 using the 'Stuck in bootloader' sticky, using the files from APA_Verizon_31430_314208_14300_WWE_Ship_2.exe for the NoID RUU files part of the process, with no apparent problems. Cooked off a 6.1 rom and installed it no problem. The phone worked at first, but a soft reset later and I noticed the 'radio version: none' problem. So I try using the how to get your radio back thread, no luck. I tried it again replacing radio_.nbf with the redownloaded APA_verizon... .exe version, no luck. I followed all the directions to the letter on both of the threads and didn't receive any errors during either of the processes. I decided to call it quits at that point(2 hours in) and ask the community what to do, seeing as I could, and possibly did, fry the radio.
/Edit Ok, decided not to sleep tonight so that I could read everything about radio problems everywhere. Just about to chuck it out the window and commit myself. |
Re: Radio none problem
I went through everything there was to do once for a 'none' radio. It was a friends phone. I had a long post about it but I cannot find it now. I reflashed the radio. I reflashed the ROM, I loaded a clone image of my ROM off my phone and also the did tricks here on the board but it was evident the radio had no desire to return. So in the end I told the guy to file a claim and just get another.

Ya, I think I'm about at the point you were at. Luckily, this phone is still under the seven day warranty with ausurion, so I figure, if I just get bootloader back up to 2.05 and flash back to stock, I could just call them and say 'The phone stopped working and the ppc is telling me i need a tethered phone?' Problem is, I can't flash back to stock. I get a error 120: country id error, which I need to research once I get back from work. The only downside is I only have till tomorrow to call them and try to get a replacement without having to pay the $50. |
Re: Radio none problem
Ok, I need to revert it back to bootloader 2.05(since I am sending it back to asurion). The only information I was able to find that didn't involve downgrading from 2.05 was in the Stuck in bootloader sticky and that left me slightly confused. I have verizon, can I used the old bell rom files included or do I need verizons? Which files would I need to move into the bootloaderfix directory? Do I need to resize my partitions again or do I just run the update? If anyone can answer even one of these questions you will have my eternal gratitude. If thats not enough for you to answer the question, I also have paypal. Thanks again!

Re: Radio none problem
I would just send it back saying the radio quit and plead the fifth.
