3.5's default is 0.

Yep, that one was missing, as well as disabling the menu animations - that one does seem to make a world of difference.

I dunno about that - do a full apples-apples compare (make sure registry has all the same "speed" settings) - I am thinking 3.5 is at least the same, maybe better then 3.3 once the settings are the same.

Fortunately this time I dumped my whole 3.3 registry before slicking - I've been comparing the two and moving in stuff that seems to be missing in 3.5/

schettj: I have all the speed tweaks in my current 3.5 ROM that I had in my 3.3 and I still think the screen re-draws and little "pauses" are greater in 3.5. This may be just slightly but I still think they are there. I also had the animate off in GWES in both "pr" releases as I already knew that one made a big difference ;)

Well, I'm not seeing it here - my glyphcach is 4000 hex, maybe that's it? The new icons are a bit more to draw, I suppose.

Overall (now that I've corrected most of the stupid errors I introduced) it seems more stable then 3.3, that's for sure. 3.3 would drop the EVDO data connection (arrows go away) and then not be able to re-connect. 3.5 dropped the arrows once, but reconnected all by itself when I surfed the web. That alone is worth it.

(did you notice error reporting is enabled in the 3.5 kitchen by default?)

How to switch between .NET CF1 and .NET CF2

Hi, All:
I made my customized AKU3.5 by including the .NET CF2 OEM module. I did not realize that it already has the .NET CF 1.0 version built in. Anyway, when I run the WiFiFoRum application which requires .NET 2.0, I got exception stating .NET 2.0 is not installed. I did notice two versions in Windows folder and registry. It seems that .NET 1.0 is enabled, but 2.0 is not. How do I switch to 2.0. Thanks.

I have .net cf 2.0 in my rom and for some reason when I install programs that need it, it says a newer version of .net CF is required than the one installed. Is there a reason why the program is not recognizing that .net cf 2.0 is in the rom? Anyone else having this problem?

I removed the .net module built into the kitchen and replaced it with .netcf2 from the ftp (tried the combined 1 and 2 but that did not work). After that, I have been able to run .net cf 2 programs fine.

I made a new 3.3 and 3.5 rom with the same feature set (and tweaks) and new tweaks and ran them both. I think 3.5 is now the winner in speed with the new changes. I also downgraded to my last public rom just to verify and think 3.5 is at or better in speed. Shoudl have a new rom out in a day or so if anyone wants to see for themselves.

What are the new changes?

Would like to add them to my rom

master_shake: the fsreplxfilt key mentioned earlier as well as a pruneing of the cf 2.0 keys as well as the cleaning of some unneeded files in the windows dir. Still testing what I have changed but will post them around the time I put the rom out.
