i dont think anybody has thought about that yet, you might want to get the active sync cab and see if you can find it

HOW to use Internet Sharing

OK, it is Silly Question Time.

I have the Helmi AKU 3.5 on my XV6700.

Everyone talks of Internet Sharing. Run that on my phone, or my XP box? If on the phone--which I assume--WHERE? I have no shortcut for such in the programs group, no obvious program name under File Explorer, and nothing in the Settings->Connections.

Thank you.

Internet sharing is not available in Helmis first custom rom for our phone. It is in any of the customised 3.5 roms with a lot of other fixes and enhancements. Try colonels, always believe, etc or simply go to this thread for more info on each customised rom.

Using Vista here as well and can't get it to work. The Modem drivers do not install. Anyone have any luck?

Ver. tethering

I haven't seen that anyone has come out and said if ver. allows tethering or not. I read somewhere that they were going to support tethering on some of their phones. Does that mean if you tether your (unsupported) XV6700 your in violations simply because they have chosen not to support that phone even if it’s perfectly capable of tethering?

Can anyone shed any light on Ver. Tethering policy?

Thanks

I could not get this to work at first, I would run connection sharing and hit "connect" and got a check cable message on my phone.

My computer would not recognize the device.

I unplugged the USB cable from the computer and plugged it back in and the computer recognzed the device as a networking adapter and then connected to the internet with no difficulty.

For me, the problems were solved simply by unplugging the USB cable and plugging it back in. Re-starting the computer would have the same effect but take longer.
