NOOB
Hey everyone! Let me warn you now, I am new to this site. I have done some searching but have a few simple questions.
I just bought the PPC-6700 from Sprint. I get it tomorrow morning, and I know nothing about it at all. 1. What type of ringtones does it use ( mp3, wav, midi ect. ) and about how many will it hold? 2. AIM or any similar software for Instant Messaging? 3. Anything special I need to know before I download/install any programs to the phone and or where to get stuff like that? I have read the entire book that comes with the phone, and have been throught the stuff that sprint has on their website, but still am quite lost. I have been with nextel for 3 years, and this is the first time that I went to a GSM based service, and jumped right into the Pocket PC. I am LOST!! Any help or information on this phone that you could provide to me would be greatly appreciated. Email: jsiahsdaddy826@yahoo.com AIM: jsiahsdaddy826 YIM: jsiahsdaddy826 Thanks for your time and help! It plays .mp3, .wav, midi and .wma files for ringers. How many? depends on the size of the fiels. Obvioulsy .wma are the smallest whereas .wavs can be huge, so it just depends.
You'll want to make sure you have the latest ROM update (see how to in the Apache/6700 thread) as well as enable the EvDo ring-through hack. As far as AIM, you have the best program (imo) Verichat, Agile Messenger, IM+, iMov and just plain ol' AIM for ppc. |
also hacks that you might want to consider doing. uninstalling all the junkware sprint installs. look at all post, because they can all be usefull to you

install magic button first thing. ;) it closes programs instead of leaving them running.
