pr5 stability update

I was able to complete a *22899, *228 option 2 this morning. It may have been an issue on the Verizon network side at the time I attempted it.

I also noticed that you put all the apps within Windows directory so that is where I put voicecommand and all works with that with the exception of caller id announcement within bluetooth headset; this the reason for idtransfer which doesn't work within 3.3 roms and higher for some odd reason.

BUT- I woke up this morning and I had DSOD, but I am going to clean the system completely off and rebuild. I have found that having a clean system nothing on it except the config resolves 90% of my issues.

Will update more.

Great so far..

mattdb: I'll make a note on pOutlook and get it fixed on the next sp or in PR6 (when wisbar is released).

schwos: Great to hear that it is working. I was guessing it was a VZW set as I am not up on all their codes. Good to know that it's not the rom
As to the DSOD, did you Hard reset after doing the rom upgrade (two front soft keys + reset button. I mention the keys as many used the reset sequence shown on screen which is wrong and had issues earlier). I added in the Flash and xPDF just before releasing so it's possible they introduced something but I had not had any DSOD in the two weeks I was testing the base. When you hard reset, try it "out of the box" first then slowly load to the devices storage unless it's a stand alone app, like a game or similar. I am sure you probably know that any thing the os talks to on the storage card can casue DSODs and since the base image installs to less than 1.5 meg you should have room to play. I also load almost everything to the devices storage now as it's just not worth the risk of DSOD's (even if rare) when you don't have to run from the storage card.

I just loaded pr5 on a xv6700. *22899 worked for me.
Still don't know if I needed it, but it does work.

Some of the ##codes work, some don't.
I never use them, and I was under the impression that once you made changes in the ##codes, they remain even after a hard-reset, as long as you don't let the Verizon customizations run.
Is this true?

from napster? isn't this where you buy stuff to listen? if so, that would be DRM protected nO?

Can you play the files with winamp on the comp or some other player other than windows media player? When you go the the ppc, the player that should play it is windows media player, seeing as it can read the protections, tcpmp is not that well suited for DRM protected files.
vtigre: Okay, I understand now. I've found some other discussions elsewhere that go into this question of protected WMA files. You're right, it seems TCMCP doesn't work well with them. I wonder if their "for-cost" Core Player works with protected WMAs? Conduits' advertises that their Pocket Player will play them. (Same $$$ on Handango as Core.) So, I installed the trial version of Pocket Player. It does indeed play those protected files! And a slight modification of the reg hack mentioned here a day or so ago will get Pocket Player working with Voice Command; well, at least the command "play .... " works. Also, in my trials with my Bluetooth Stereo headphones, there was absolutely no skipping in Pocket Player after I increased the buffering a bit.

Later Edit: This is a reply I got over at the Core forum:
I don't think the DRM is in CorePlayer, yet. Janus/Plays for Sure, Matroska DRM, OpenIPMPand others should be announced in future, I believe.

Mattdb,

Thank you very much. It works. It is already supported in pr4 except I did not know that I need to hold down the camera button. I did press it but I guess it was not long enough.

Thanks again for your helps.

I wish there was a way to reduce the delay time to start the camera.
Too bad you can't just click the button and it automatically take a picture.

JESUS CHRIST congress is changing the time of daylight. They have way too much power in my opinion.

Not sure if it can be fixed in the next update, but just a heads up if you haven't seen the new daylight savings time patch-
