Also am I supposed to run these tools on the phone? I just tried to run CreateOS.exe on my PC and it gave an error that it can't run.

I flashed with the working USB one tonight and when I try to put the CreateOS.exe on the phone to run it- it just says that I need a newer version of the .NET Framework.

ok.. some explain.

Everything needed to make a rom is INCLUDED in the kitchen. You need NOTHING ELSE......

1. You extract the rom..
2. You run the createos.
3. You run the createROM.
4. You run the HTC Encryptor program.

At that point you have a NK.NBF file just like what the colonel has been sharing. You simply need to flash that file to you're phone just like you have been w/ the colonels 'latest nk.nbf" files.

Of course, at that point you only have a STOCK 3.5 rom. There are no application adds to it.

To add applications you grab the files you want form the OEM Kitchens.. Much like getting a cab. read any "readme" file from there. Ordinarily all you do is copy the directory to the subdirectory found in the kitchen. and then run steps 2-4.

If you have problems at that point, I sugguest you wait for others to build the applications you want into them, and just flash the roms they make for you.

Since we are on the WM6 subject, I can get the Wizard WM6 to decode to DUMP, but the biggest issue I'm facing is, how to turn that DUMP into a kitchen, more precisely, OS and LOC directory.

Gents - nice work all around - Helmi, Cokeman, Colonel, Shawn, and everyone else - this is awesome. Looking forward to the Colonel's OEM's and moving into the kitchen myself. Thanks! Jeff

3 questions:

1. What is the kitchen? The tools or what exactly?

2. How do I "extract the OS" as you say in your step 1?

3. How do I get this to work when it says I need a newer .NET Framework software?

Thanx

Okay, I searched around and couldn't find the answer, so what's the big difference, if any between 3.3 and 3.5?

1. Kitchen refers to a "method" of creating your own ROM. It contains set of tools to make it, and set of requirements to follow.

2. Download any existing kitchen to skip that step (i think), then read my tutorial. http://www.ppcgeeks.com/greetings-th...rom-t2609.html

3. In .NET 3.0 (Window Vista), you will get an error saying LOC/packages.sof is corrupted if u attempted to run CreateOS.exe. I got the EXE disambled and currently looking at the .NET code behind it.

I'm not running Vista. I have XP on my computer. The CreateOS.exe won't run on my PC. I copied it over to my PPC and when I try to run it that is when it says I need a newer .NET version.

What do I have to do?
