Flashing back from Mobile 6.1 to 5.0

Will flashing from 6.1 back to 5.0 increase speed and battery life on the XV 6700? If so, is it possible to do? Searched the forums, but couldn't quite find the answer I was looking for. Thanks guys!

Yes, you can, but you need a 5.0 install.

Awesome! Thanks! Can anyone else chime in as to if it will make much of a difference doing this? I love 6.1, but the battery life is horrible, and transition speed from potrait to landscape is horrible as well. I have installed batteryandperformace hack. Thanks again in advance!

The battery life isn't that much worse to actually make a big deal out of it. I will take WM6.1 over anything else, simple because of the threaded SMS integration. I couldn't stand having to access SMS messages in WM5 like I was using email. Did you use the Kitchen for the upgrade?

Yes I did, and i am continuously learning more with reg edits and such. I am a new XV6700 user, and came from a tricked out Treo 650. I bit of a difference. I have utilized all of batterysave techniques, but if anyone has any programs, reg edits, or ideas to prolong battery life I am open to hearing them. I have learned a TON from this forum already, and can't wait to start getting involved guys. Thanks!

Loo here for a list of reg edits and hacks. You can also look in my profile to see what all apps I am using. I am overclocked to 624 and a std battery and have no issues at al.
